Wanted to bump this up and see how many IU’s most of you are taking per day?
How many IU’s do you take? Why?
Do you spread them out or take it all at once?

Seeing that winter is upon us I might as well start taking Vitamin D. I see that the products in softgels (which are the ones you want) seem to be in a soya bean oil most of the time. Can anyone recommend a softgel vitamin D3 with no soya?

Jarrow’s
Vitamin D = More T
Are softgels really important? I just ordered 5000 IU tablets. Taking 1 a day.
2500IU per day, since this article came out - I didn’t bother in summer or any day where I spend time outside (few and far between…)
Haven’t had more than 1-2 days where a cold made me crappy.
Anyone else get dizzy from D3?
I can’t take it every day without getting dizzy. Can’t remember brand name, but perhaps I ought to try a different brand (softgels) before quitting.

Yea it’s high quality and is what I use. They make a 1,000 2,500 and 5,000 IU soft gel.

Anyone getting their vitamin D from cod liver oil? I use Green Pastures fermented cod liver oil - couldn’t stomach the liquid so I switched over to pills. [/quote]
You won’t be able to get enough from cod live oil alone, you’ll need a vitamin D supp as well. I take both.

(all the softgels in one high-fat meal)
^^^ Thanks for posting your intakes up, it’s great to see where everyone else is with their dosing.
I take 10,000 IUs a day of D3. This is based of recommendations from John Meadows. Might decrease in spring and summer months.
Never considered it was from the Vit. D but I havn’t been sick since I started taking them.
Why doesn’t anyone mention milk in these threads?
Whats different with the vitamin d in my milk?

Unless labeled otherwise, it’s likely Vitamin D2, which sucks. Sucks Big Rhinosaurus balls. We supplement with D3.
EVen if they use D3, 1 cup has 50% of RDA = 200IU
You’ll only need to drink 20 cups (5 L) to get 4000IU. Pray you’re not Lactose Intolerant ![]()
