Casting a bigger actor would lead to making more money. That CGI, latex, and all those other special effects cost a shitload of money. So from that perspective, casting someone who is a relative newcomer (who can fit the bill in regards to size) means a) not much in terms of graphical effects are need to enhance the character and b) since he, for all intents and purposes, is a “filler” character, the studio wouldn’t have to pay him as much as say a Kelsey Grammer.
From just watching the trailer, it looks like Beast is going to be bigger than Juggernaut, and I’m sure there are plenty of guys on this site who are bigger than both.
More importantly, why no Gambit? And no more Colossus? I loved X2, despite all the storyline changes that were made, and I’m definitely seeing X3, but how did Kitty Pride get into X3?

the point is that in hollywood, the name and the face sell tickets … even if some bodybuilder could act, it would not matter … the simple fact that vinny jones is quite well known and has rep as a hardass will sell way more tickets
think about how much cheaper it would have been to pay branch warren or similar … probably 10% or even less of the compensation, not to mention the lack of need for a latex costume … do you think that hollywood didn’t consider all of this?

I was serious about his acting in True Lies.
Last Action is one of the films people hate but I love. I think it was really well written and done and he did a great job of making fun of himself. But I dont care if you dont agree. Hell it makes it more fun if people dont agree! No probs here X.

Yea, its supposed to be Daniel Cudmore from X3 still. He’s got some good size on him. Part of his “bigness” will be that he’s quite tall- something like 6’5 I believe.
