Congratulations lil power!

DF…thanks…

Well back from anniversary trip to Disney…4 parks in 2 days made me realize even more that I’m not a spring chicken anymore…I was just beat. It was hot and humid. Loved the Animal Kingdom but hubby didn’t so much. Did drink around the world in Epcot, and I’m not a drinker so kinda tough to get moving the next day.
I did bring my stick and pulley down so I did my PT sessions, well at least once a day.

Back to reality…PT today was good, therapist said my ROM was really good so get to start on bands next week, but still no loading the bicep with any weights.

found I gained about 10 lbs during this rehab stuff and I need to move my a$$ a bit more and eat a bit less or at least a bit cleaner…I’ll never make the 148’s at this rate.

Glad to hear you had fun.

No way I’d be able to do four parks in two days without being a grumpy ass.

happy anniversary

Joe - couldn’t be grumpy, alcohol and no kids ftw!

nlmain - thanks!

PT session (10 weeks post-op) started on therapy bands…
green band / push/punch , external rotation, internal rotation and pulling exercise all at waist level.
actually got to use 2# green db (yay, not the pink one!!) for wrist curls, wrist extension and tricep kickback.
PT had to be sure I wasn’t loading the bicep on the kickbacks, there is a stretch but I don’t feel like the biceps is working at all on this exercise. 2 more weeks, after next Dr appt, hopefully I can start curling in the squat rack.

Felt sooo good to move against some resistance, I wanted to do this everyday, but PT stated strengthening is only 3x a week.

Truer words were never spoken. I love my kids to death but damn they can complicate the adult side of a relationship.

Kick ass. I can feel the sexy in here

happy Anniversary glad PT is moving along

Curls in the squat rack means you are Back!!!

Git and Kmcnyc - thanks !

11 week post op check in

Upgraded therapy band from green to blue and from 2 sets of 10 to 3 sets of 15 for each exercise
Added 3 more exercises and a couple of different wall stretches. Still no loading of the bicep… :frowning:

My shoulder definitely feels " tired" right now. Plenty of icing to keep the inflammation in control.

Other than that, diet is cleaned up and started 2 30 min cardio sessions a day… Lost about 7 lbs this week, yep, mostly water bloat weight, but still gone at this point.

It was cool to meet some T Nation’ers last w/e at the Joe’s meet. We’ll get Linnrose over so he can work out of the mono lift in prep for his first full meet soon.

What no mention on the legs training? I mean you should be up to what? 500 on that leg pressing by now.

Water weight or not Im sure the weight loss put a little smile on your face.

Sounds like the rehab is on target and progressing nicely. I’ll be truly back at it soon enough.

Ok Upscale, did some legs today, tried to figure what I could do in the home gym…
Put both my 10# ankle weights over my weightlifting belt to make “weight belt”. Did 3 sets of lunges down and back up the driveway
Tried front squats with just the bar, but felt it loaded the bicep a bit and I’m still trying to behave
Kept the weight belt on and held a DB to my chest and did 5 sets of 10 wide box squats
Sumo pulled double overhand hook grip just see if I could. 5 sets of 10
Light band gm’s 3 sets of 15

Garage was hot and I was sweating good, loved it!

at meet on Sunday I was talking to some of the more experienced litters and one suggested not use the repaired bicep side as my underhand on mixed grip. He suggested dbl overhand hook grip, so I’m going to give it a try. I have such small hands and can barely get my finger over the thumb, but with just the bar it wasn’t bad…I know it will get more painful as tne weight is loaded on.

You sound like you are coming along quite well

I was just on the SPF site and there is a pic of you squatting on the home page

if I can get used to hook grip, then I have no doubts you can.

Rhonda, yep those are old pictures, quite a narrow squat stance compared to now.

Linnrose, ok if you say so, we’ll see

Hit the commercial gym today, I still don’t have too many DB options at home.
Single arm DB press-35 x 8, 40 x 8, 42.5 x 8. Was a bit difficult to keep arched and tight with just 1 DB and other arm loose
Reverse single arm cables-right arm did 3 sets of 15 at 5 lbs, left arm 3 sets of 10 at 15 lbs
Left arm DB curls 3 sets of 15
Pec deck, moved with both arms but really only lifted weight with left arm, right just went along for the stretch- 3 x 12 @ 30
Hammer strength incline- left arm 3 x 10 @ 25
Rev pec deck -left arm only, 3 x 10 @20
DB shrugs - 3 x 15 , 45 w/left and 15 w/right, think I can go up on left next time

Arc trainer 20 min, sauna 20 min

it’s lookin up in here - nice weight loss and yeah on resistance work.
