If Odin had been in the video, it would’ve been epic!
According to the estimated 1RM charts, your 245 x 3 is worth 270 'fer sure. The fact you did it after the miss means all that’s missing is the good luck Odin headrub and the viking helmut for 275!!!
punnyguy - Thanks I needed that, and yes Odin will there the next time
Mainy - hey girl! love the avi

225 x 2 x 4, last 2 sets I went wider, so when I unracked the bar just barely cleared the hooks so lowered it down, I only have a few holes to lower anymore, I’d better not compress to much more…
But the wider stance was strong, so I’ll have to try it next ME session.
Oh my, I loved that promo vid on the other page. So does this mean you’re going to be at a competition with kara bohigian??? Holy hell, jealous am I ever!!
Also, I love your dog.
Also, your sumo DL looked so flippin’ easy from the start. That was damn close! I was always uncertain of my stance/foot positioning when I was doing sumo. Now I pull conventional so I don’t have to doubt it all the time, hA.
Spock, yeppers she will be there in April I started conventional just recently switched to sumo, so still playing around trying to the right stance for me
DF- thanks young one. I think I’ll move stance in a bit. I think my right shoulder was starting to give and I was playing it safe but yes I need to own that bar!

You do look really wide on your sumos. But that sure is a short ROM. So if you can make it work . . .
Also, such wide-stance GMs! I always do mine narrow. But why? I must try them wide.[/quote]
I may go in a bit on the sumo stance next time and see what happens, as DF said ‘attack the bar’!
When I go wide on GMs I feel it more in hamstrings and glutes, than lower back. But I change them up too.

That looked really easy. The most I’ve ever squatted reverse bands is 365 and that felt scary.
Regarding the video, of course I recognised you… immediately. I also recognized Shany Gilbert who was in a meet with me a couple of years ago. She’s a beast too. It must be a pretty good feeling to be included in a group like that; and belong in a group like that.
O-Yes, I think I’m the oldest one in that video, Amy W is close but I still have her beat by a year or two… I so wish I had started this sport earlier in life. Shaney is an awesome lifter and she’s only 21? She’s going to go far if she keeps training !!
Rhonda, I would but Jesse is a dog trainer and I’m sure has that spot taken with one of his…
But speaking of Odin, he just got back from his first grooming session (had to wait 10 days for his stitches to dissolve) and smells sooo good and feels like velvet, I foresee a big snuggle session tonight.

YEAHH, wide stance good mornings! COOL. I want to eventually try those bad boys out.
ALSO, you totally got me into doing close grip bench press. I love being reminded about exercises that I forgot about or finding new ones that seem to really target certain weak points. I feel very productive that way, ha.
Charile Horse, I’ve been lurking in your log recently too, thanks for stopping by
Mainy, yes do try GM in different stances
Spock, thanks for checking in and I’m glad my log can add something to your training too
Kairiki - yes the Viking is standard in my gym as is Odin, lol…once I get the Vahalla shirt, the sword will come out also
Pete, thanks for checking on me, love the support from such a strong PL’er !!!

That’s all I did, a lot of errands and I’m a bit tired from the meet yesterday, lost a little voice with all the cheering but it was fun stuff.
Lil Power, I want your input. Thinking about giving single ply a try. More to hold old parts together, than to lift alot more weight. But I’d be lying if I said lifting more dosen’t have its appeal.
Did a Spf meet in Nov. and Jesse said to stay away from it. Would like to hear your thoughts, thanks!
Speaking from the perspective of a spectator only, you have the best form -great control- on box squats. The only ones I watch and don’t wince because I’m thinking “poor back…”.
