Vikki's Rehab Adventure to a PL Total

good job on the front squat PR - you def have more in the tank as Git mentionned

39 reps of anything is crazytalk!!

and yet I can’t help but wonder hmmmm…

Impressive strength on front squats, especially upper body!

Lol at not being competitive.

I never have enough words to express here!

your a ROCKSTAR!!

Simply unbelieveable.

You are restriction-free now?

You make it look effortless.

Git- once I got the front squats unranked it felt pretty easy, it was a bit tough on the shoulder, but I do need to suck it up

Mainy- thanks and I hope to hit at least 45, but I have no idea how to train for a rep comp

Punnyguy - thank you, guess my dad raised me to compete against my brothers, lol

MiM - I don’t post for glory, just keep track of what I’m doing and what 49 y/o girls can do, but thank you

Snap - yes, I guess. My last dr appt was at 12 weeks and at 15 weeks PT released me, only stating to keep doing light weight hi reps for awhile. I’m at 20 weeks now, I think the only restrictions are the ones I placed on myself. I’m still being conservative on some movements. :))

Up - Thanks, my lower body seems to have not lost too much strength.

Bench reps

Parents are in town so didn’t have a lot of time for accessories. First time actually doing a 1 rep max on any bench exercise since surgery, it’s been a little over 4 months.
Then since I’m going to do a bench rep contest, I read some on how to train for the 225 bench in the combine, one day work up to max/es on main bench exercise, then do a set of your rep weight to failure, each week try add 1 rep.
Next bench day (my DE upper) do the bench rep, then pyramid down sets. I’m going to give this a try.

My 14 y/o daughter trained with me tonight, she was floor pressing 55# for 6 reps, then regular bench 50# for 3, she was definitely getting tired. I think she’s really getting interested in a push/pull comp. Just can’t get to squat yet

squat is a heard bitch to learn, but well worth the results.

one must enter her temple with submission and determination.

Cool that she likes the pressing - benching is what got me hooked in the first place too.

Yea Mainy, she has no desire to squat at this point in time.

Parents were in town, left this morning so my training will commence again.

You did 40 reps of 90, in a row?

Yes, working on a rep contest for charity in a few weeks

You’re so little! You have awesome leverages. I was just scrolling through watching videos from the last few weeks. That was a crazy front squat.

You really have come around quickly. I’m looking forward to seeing how you do in the rep contest.

When you rep out, where do you feel it the most? I find it kills my forearms.

your my hero

cool reps.

I would get miserably sore if I tried that
my pressing is always lame

nice work

Crap, I don’t think I could do 40 reps of anything. You’re a beast.

O - yep all 4’11" of my short stocky frame does make for good PL leverages. As of being sore after the bench repping, right now it’s my repaired shoulder that feels it the most.

Ronda - blush

Kmcnyc - surprisingly I’m not sore after the repping, think it’s because I’ve been repping for shoulder rehab and it’s getting use to it

Joe - beast = good? I think so :-))

DE Lower / 11-21
Speed box squats
got under the straight bar again, no suit bottoms this time as my shoulders still can’t take a lot of weight
bar x 6
65 x 5
95 x 3
135 x 3
155 x 3 for 2 sets
165 x 2 for 4 sets

fast, wide stance, hips were fine, but didn’t go extremely fast since the bar bounces on my shoulders at lockout and that didn’t feel real good. But I’m under the straight bar again for 70#s more than last time, so I guess all in all, not too bad.

Speed DL
135 x 5
185 x 1 x2
205 x 1 x2
215 x 1
225 x 1 x2, these sets had to go hook grip as right hand started giving out. This was always my underhand grip but since surgery had been advised to keep it overhand or hook grip.

why 200 reps of leg curls?

Plus I love the 80’s music in some of your videos.

I noticed you hook gripped some of your deadlifts. How is that working for you? I guy I train with from time to time has started training them all like that due to fear of a bicep tear.
