I’m into cycle 3 of this template at my gym has had to close down…only option in my area is a planet fitness style gym where i’ll have no access to the prowler, rope and all the other cool stuff for the Viking day.
Is there anything you could suggest as an alternative (save buying this equipment myself), or would you advise changing templates?
Cheers - looks great, but there’s not really any space to get that sort of shit done in my gym. there’s an abundance of crappy assistance and cardio machines.
Any other idea? It’s looking like i’m going to have to change templates. damn.
The whole key to the Viking Day, as apparently the people above haven’t read as this is pointed out in the article very clearly is to do heavy, hard shit with little chance of injury. That is why we don’t do loaded carries. That’s not to say they aren’t good, but done for conditioning for an unprepared lifter/athlete reeks of idiocy. Again, this is pointed out in the article about the Viking Day.
Here’s what I’d for you - pick some challenging conditioning goal - say 6:00 mile or something similar. And go fight for it. I am amazed at how few people can actually RUN a mile (NOT jog). If you aren’t hurt or too old, you have no excuse.
There is no detriment to the man who can run a TRUE 6:00 mile, deadlift/squat 500 and do 20 dead hang chins.
