Because I have to turn LEFT off of a 4 lane road. But before I can do that, I have to be in the passing lane, then merge into the left turn lane.

This inconveniences people who want to fly in the passing lane? Tough. Vote for a different road.

Impatient to turn and feel the urge to cut around in line? Nope. Learn some manners, as alien a concept as that is.

There’s no problem with you sitting in the left lane for a couple blocks to make sure you get your turn. But what’s the point of speeding up when someone tries to pass you to get the left turn first? What’s the point of that besides being a complete and utter douche bag? There’s absolutely no reason for it.

You’re like the dickhead at Wal Mart who parks his cart on the right side of the aisle and then stands to the left of the cart. Basically blocking anyone from getting through while you stare at the intriguing assortment of tooth paste.
If you were in line at the movie theatre to buy tickets and the guy behind you darted around you to get to the ticket window first, then you’d simply smile and nod? Yeah, right…

I guess that means you can fight. Next time you’re in NJ, shoot me a PM and we’ll hit the mat/ring legal like and I’ll make your little underwear stain fantasy come true. Funny guy. Drive like the big man you’re claiming to be instead of some hysterical broad worried about how fast someone else like me is going. itch.
You sound like a spoiled brat who always must have his way, must always be first, “Get outta my way or I’ll stamp my foot and hold my breath!” Bulletin: you don’t own the road, mighty mite, no matter how many temper tantrums your little ego wants to spit out.

You also sound pretty gutless — legal and in the ring, so the referee can save your punk ass. PWNED!!!

T-Nation is for MEN, little boy. Does your momma know your on it? Go away, little boy.

I’m so glad this post was created since I just drove for three hours on i75 today.

There is nothing that pisses me off more than when old man rivers is briskly cruising in the fast lane at 60 mph with ten and two going on. WTF??? It is a three lane high way and this guy needs to be two lanes over. I wanted to flag him down and strangle him.

I always ask myself why these people are still on the road.

Venting over.
Apples and oranges.

I always consider the speed limit as just a suggestion

I’ve just always been of the mind-set that if the person behind you is obviously going faster than you and you are in teh left lane, you should move over and let them pass.

Is that your shopping list for Wal-mart? Your Wal-mart example is good, but my example is different?

I now see why Prof X wanted the Cell concept.

Done with this thread. Can’t argue with idiots…

You prohibit people from getting their left turn before you while you drive slow in the fast lane, and even block people from missing their turn entirely.

You’re a dick. That’s not up for debate.

I think randomly slowing to a stop in the left lane is a better strategy. If the people behind you are keeping a safe distance, they will be able to stop easily. It’s a good “fire drill” for the highways.

This one made me laugh out loud. But then it occurred to me that someone might actually do this.

Okay, here’s to you speedracers who feel the need to ride my ass when I’m going 80mph in the fast lane with 65 limit.

 • It is up to you to do the work of changing lanes to pass me. No I will not move over, because I am still going faster than traffic in the middle lane.

On a different note, I’m experimenting this week with driving 65-70 in the slow lane. Just to see if it cuts down on my stress, mostly because I won’t have to pass as many people. And I’m curious to see if I can get my old civic to average over 40mpg.

HEADLIGHTS - YES. Why the fuck do these manufactures such as Lexus and BMW and all them feel that they need to put blindingly bright blue headlights in their cars? I could safely drive my car with my 30w bicycle headlight system. I don’t even need headlights on the highway because of the lamps.

LISTEN: YOU ARE NOT COOL. You are not special or whatever you think is so great with your blinding headlights. People HATE you. Do you like driving a car so people hate you? Do you feel superior that your headlights blind other road users? Let me say this again - people HATE you.

I was a half mile up the highway in front of this Lexus suv, and the lights were still bothering me in my mirrors. I hope someone smashes your lights out.

Good day.

Wow I gotta post on this one. It is a really simple concept that the left lane on the freeway is for passing. If you are not passing then you are not in the left lane.

As for Mr. huge who is gonna bust out of his car and beat someones ass i gotta tell you man you would get killed. I washed cars for a while and you would not believe the shit people have with them. We found knives, bats, hammer handles with chains (no shit probably the craziest thing I saw ) we have even seen guns in glove boxes. so get out acting all tough and righteous because some punk kid might just fuck you up.

Shit about driving slow on purpose and shit why? Your being much more of a dick than someone speeding or driving on the shoulder. Let them risk the ticket it is not hurting you.

I just had a person like you on 95 this afternoon. I passed him and just kept going. He got pissed sped up to tail gate me, so I ever so gently  tapped my brakes. He in response slammed his to avoid hitting me, lost control spun and hit the guard rail hard. Is that what you want. You want to force people to follow your will? Are you over lord of the universe?

“Off Topic Warning”

Let me ask you this, he had a bumper sticka’ (maine speak) that read “if you don’t like Abortions try a Vasectomy” should’nt it have read if you “do” like Abortions try a Vasectomy? I mean aren’t the people whom are against Abortions for having children and those for Abortion against . . . just ask’n

No sir. I’ve had enough of “men” like you claim/act like they want something only to involve the law.

Anyway, why would someone who claims to be a teacher seemingly risk his teaching license for a dust up (not)? I offered you a real fight with no repercutions (other than your certain bodily injury).

Stop yammering away on the internet, drop it, and shoot me a PM whenever you make it to NJ and we can make your fantasy a reality. If, on the way to the gym, you should ball up your great big fist and throw it my way, you’ll get the terms you claim to desire. Simple enough right?

Inbred speed freaks? Ok grandma, just because you’re uncomfortable and unsure of your driving ability at a faster speed doesn’t mean everyone else is.
Doesn’t the FAST LANE have to adhere to the legal speed limit also ?

I don’t understand how I could be ticketed for doing the speed limit…I’m talking about a road where the speed limit is 35 fucking miles per hour…it’s two fucking lanes…the road switches up from one lane to 2 lanes at different places…there’s traffic lights every couple of miles…

maybe I could’ve better described the road in my original post, but I did mention I wasn’t talking about a major fucking highway…

When everyone that is saying I’d be ticketed for impeding traffic flow…can you explain to me how the police would give me a ticket for driving the posted speed limit? I think you’re confusing what I’m talking about with people actually driving way below the speed limit…

I don’t cut people off, try to skip past people in merge situations, drive in the shoulder during a traffic jam,

Oh that REALLY pisses me off. I’ve gotten into some good ones with peopel who do this over the years. Quite often if I’m stuck in traffic I will deliberately move over to an outside lane. If I see someone come bombing up the shoulder I will move halfway out into the shoulder lane blocking their progress and forcing them to slow down. It works really well when the car behind me closes teh gap between us enough to disallow the speeder from merging back into general traffic. One time I had a woman start leaning on her horn, thinking she could annoy me into moving … I just turned up my radio. Problem solved. I’m happy just thinking about it.

I used to drive down a road where you had to wait like 10 minutes at a stop sign…the line of cars backed up about a half mile…some assholes would pull into a shopping plaza beside the road and drive through the parking lot and then exit the lot bypassing the line of traffic…

I’d watch for them in my rear view mirror and if the timing worked out I could pull off the road and block them from exiting…I would put my car in park and walk over to their car and ask them why they thought their time was more important than everyone else’s…not once did anyone tell me they were late for the airport or have a legitimate reason…I think television is to blame for a lot of this.

the most important thing is to drive safely. cops want to see traffic moving. they don’t want clogged lanes, they don’t want tailgating and people passing on the right cause that’s what makes people dead. traffic flow and safety is much more important than the literal “speed limit”.

this is why you can drive by cops on a friday morning commute in good weather @ 80 mph. the reason you would get a ticket for driving slow in the passing lane is because,

in the judgement of that officer, your driving is fucking up highway flow over a 20mile stretch and is ultimately more dangerous than someone doing 10 or 15 over who might get pulled over but probably only get a warning if they were “speeding safely” and didn’t have too much of a record.
