Video: What's Wrong with What We Eat

http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/mark_bittman_on_what_s_wrong_with_what_we_eat.html

Do you watch the TED talks? If not, why not?

and people asking for Ted. He’s right there

“one of our problems is the over consumption of animals, and of course junk food is the problem”

funny, I don’t see too many fat asses suckin down too much chicken breasts, or too much fish.

Yeah you do, it is just hiding from you. It’s normally triple fried and on a bun with some french fries on the side.

But the meat’s the problem here? hmmm…

I think he’s trying to get a piece of the market created by Michael Pollan (of “an eater’s manifesto” fame)

TED Talks is awesome. My favorite site.

out of the whole meal you just listed, you think the meat is the problem? not how it’s cooked? not the refined carbs, not the french fries and certainly not all combined in one meal?

oh come on jehova don’t you know that excess simple carbs are just magically excreted from your body with no fat gain ?

You fail.

I saw a “nutritionist” on TV last night who said the beer belly isn’t caused by beer because “beer doesn’t have any fat.”

Serial.

You didn’t get his satire?

TED and BigThink.com are great web sites. TED is probably a bit superior in my opinino, but BigThink is also good.

It’s ok. Midgets are always cool though. They’re like God’s little punchlines.

He makes some good points, but he made a hell of a lot of bad ones too.
