The China Study?

Yo,

Has anyone heard of, “read” or watched any of the documentaries about this study? The summary is that a 10 year study was done in china where there were 100K people who collected data from 100K counties in china or something like that, there were in the order of millions of individuals who had to report thier dietary intakes and then were screened for various health conditions etc…

The richer the population group, the overall increase in incidence of cardio diseases, cancers and other maladies. The study pointed to the consumption of meat as a percentage of the diet and it correlated strongly to the percentage of disease.

Some good documentaries are “forks over knives” “the beutiful truth” “fat sick and tired”. Where people reduce or eliminate meat to cure diseases and improve health. I am not proposing a veganism diet or anything, but I have myself reduced the total amount of meat I am eating and eating a lot more actual veggies than ever before. I am trying to eat half of the meat I usually would at dinner and eat no meat the rest of the day. Instead gorging at lunchtime on raw or lightly steamed veggies.

I only eat 2x’s per day.

Comments?

the idea that meat is bad for us is laughable and illogical. How that meat is raised, preserved and cooked are a different matter altogether.

I have been here, same place, just don’t get on the nation much anymore. As I have adjusted my focus, it has shifted towards more local interaction. Facebook food and gardening groups, attending survival and herbalism classes, etc… things like that. I don’t know if economic collapse, or the end of the world is coming, but I am trying to learn how to be more self sufficient and living more in harmony with the land and my community. If the collapse happens, well I’ll be better prepared for that as well. And I will hopefully be eating and feeding my family, more nutritious food that will increase the quality of thier lives, and also food that doesn’t reduce the qulity of someone elses life halfway arounf the planet.

Don’t thank me. Thank JF. He usually beats me to posting things  Judging by his posts in this and other threads we have pretty similar views on nutrition.
