Morrowind. Skyrim was awesome, but I still like the atmosphere of Morrowind even better.
For those who liked Last of Us, and if you enjoy a post apocalyptic atmosphere with zombies and surviving. I highly encourage looking up the game Day Z… right now its a mod for Arma II, but its being developed to be a stand-alone game. It doesn’t have any quests, its just you starting out with minimal items, trying to find items to survive in abandoned cities that are sprawling with zombies.
The most difficult part however isn’t the zombies once you get a firearm. Its that you are fighting against other survivors (online) and the dynamic there always keeps your heart rate up. For me personally I love this addon and am excited for the game. The only thing that’s ruined it (in my opinion) are the people who try to turn it into a CoD type game and don’t focus on the true intent.
Otherwise, I have never been so on edge in my life playing a game. Its one thing for code to be tracking you, its a complete other to not know who is actually out there watching you as you enter a firehouse tower searching for something to scavenge and running by windows with a clear view through a scope.
Seriously, highly recommend.

I have it on steam and it was really fun but buggy as hell. It’s been a while since I’ve played it so it might be a little more refined now. It was fun and a great idea. Having other people in the game that can attack or befriend you is a great dynamic. I may have to revisit this game again.
When I played they had fixed a lot of bugs, but there were a lot more hackers. I remember starting out at the beach and finding a corpse that had a 50 caliber sniper rifle, night vision goggles, largest size backpack, the works. Basically, the best of the best you could get. In a game that the average lifespan was 2 hours (or whatever the tally was), it was obviously a hacker that had died.
The game is pretty great when you get past the bugs, and they say it will be released on Steam once its finished. I’ll be buying it. My intent will be to set up a private server, if possible, to keep out the CoD’ers. I don’t mind bandits, but bandits don’t kill nubs with no gear, or camp cities all the time where they know starter stuff spawns.

Damn right. The atmosphere in Morrowind will almost never be topped for me. Except for by Grim Fandango.
Final Fantasy X!
No game has drawn me in so much to the world and the characters. The storyline and character development was effective. Gameplay was fairly simple, but the game drew me in for hours wanting to complete every side quest.
Even Final Fantasy X2 which was not as linear still had me completely absorbed and I went through it twice to get the perfect ending as the endings are massively different.

If you get a server set up let me know. I play with two of my military buddies and it would be cool to get a group of friendlies together.
