Could these dog lovers please give me a justification for valuing a dog’s life more than say, any other organism’s life. I’ve never really received a satisfactory answer that didn’t involve reasoning along the lines of, “they’re really cute.”
you probably don’t own a dog.
by your argument, killing an ant and killing a dog are the same thing. surely, even as someone that doesn’t have a dog such as yourself, you can see the difference. Now imagine, that animal being a part of your life for 10-15 yrs.
Where did I equate a dog to an ant? What I’m asking for is some sort of hierarchy which assigns value to organisms. Something along the lines of the ability to suffer pain, domestication, intelligence, etc etc.
yes, there is a hierarchy, and if you can’t grasp that, then I’m not sure what to say.
Would you please enlighten an ignoramus?

Do you really think killing an ant or cockroach is the same as killing a dog?
