Here are a couple more links to the story.

It is the top sports story right now on most of these pages.

I just wonder if it is true or if these witnesses are making up shit against Vick to avoid jail time.

I have no doubt Vick is a punk and is probably involved but I find some of this hard to believe unless Vick is a sociopath.

Federal Prosecutors have a 95% conviction rate. This is because they dont indict without enough evidence to convict. This is different from local prosecutors.

IF he’s involved in this, i hope he fries. I used to love to watch him play. But over the years he has proven that he is a lowlife, determined to be a lowlife.

Give him the chair as far as I’m concerned! I’d never make it as a judge.

His family doesn’t exactly have a great track record.

As for those saying he will get off or get a slap on the wrist, you need to understand the difference between a federal case v a local case. The feds don’t care if you’re a celeb. In fact, they seem to come down harder on the rich and famous.

And to echo what someone else said, the feds don’t usually go for an indictment unless they are certain they can put someone away, which is why they didn’t indict Vick two weeks ago. They took a couple of weeks to tie all of the physical evidence with testimonies.

The feds have something like a 95% conviction rate once an indictment has been handed out. This doesn’t look good for Vick.

I agree. Look at this brother. He’s a thug too. It must just be in that family. Where there’s smoke there’s fire and there seems to be a lot of smoke around Vick.

Michael Vick is a degenerate human being, innocent util proven guilty and all that. I pray that just this once justice is blind and prevails.

What a waste of potential, an amazingly gifted athlete with marketing power to move mountains, end all wars and cure cancer. Instead it all goes up in bong smoke.

Too bad he hasn’t been doing that much lately. He’s already a streaky qb and I think his career is going to end soon. Even if he does only get a slap on the wrist, which I doubt, I think he will get a hefty suspension from the league. Roger Goodell has been coming down hard on athletes so far.

Michael Vick - Most Valuable Douchebag

Yeah, that Michael Vick of Atlanta Falcons. Same dude that tried to sneak weed on a plane in his water bottle. It appears that the brother just can’t catch a break.

“NFL star Michael Vick was indicted by a federal grand jury Tuesday on charges of sponsoring a dogfighting operation so grisly the losers either died in the pit or sometimes were electrocuted, drowned, hanged or shot”.

So sad for the dogs, not so much for Michael. He’ll likely plea down to a misdemeanor, get a 2 game suspension from the NFL and maybe get to make a public service announcement with the Taco Bell Chihuahua.

“Yo chiero he go to hell!”

Disclaimer: I’m not some PETA activist, but I like animals, in fact for every animal you don’t eat, I’ll eat six. In my opinion dog fighting is a very cruel form of animal abuse and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

For once I would like to see someone who did dumb shit in the past change his ways and do smart shit. Like help the falcons win a superbowl. I guess Ray Lewis did it.

He can keep his image if he gets the Georgia fans behind him, and tries to persuade people these are things he did back in 2001 when he didn’t know any better. By time 2003 came he just gave money to his friends.

Even if he’s convicted its still possible he can get a slap on the wrist. I mean he’s only facing 6 years and 350,000. He might be able to get that down to probation and 1 million dollars with some community service or even 6 months in jail.

Plus they have a lot to prove. When you have a millionaire who has nothing but broke friends, its hard to prove that he wasn’t just giving his friends money versus conspiracy. Theres not much evidence proving he was ever around.

Many NFL players have houses they don’t live in so buying a house isn’t direct proof. The only thing that can get him is if he has animal lovers on his jury, they are fanatics and will convict soon as they see the first picture of a gruesome dog.

I’ve heard of dogs being killed in worse ways when it comes to dog fighting.

Hey Zap,

I have to agree with you here. A lot of times these witness are pretty shady themselves.

But, with what has been said with the difference between local and federal cases, I would imagine (maybe wishfully so) that the evidence in this case is much more solid.

Only time will tell.

Now the New York times is starting throw it’s hat in the ring.

I really feel that this is going to build up steam and not go away. The tendency of people to personalize this kind of stuff (see cruelty to others dogs in relation to their own) is really going to strike a cord with a lot of people. Even those who do not follow football.

Between the wacko’s at PETA and other legit groups like the Humane Society etc. I really thing Vick is going to be cooked.

The media will not give this feeding frenzy up very soon. There is too much opportunity for the vultures of the news community to let this go.

He done in Atlanta. Especially those of us who stood up for him while many were calling him a wide reciever turned QB who can’t throw worth a shit. He made a fool out of us. He may get off, but you can’t tell me he is totally innocent and knew nothing about this shit.

He would have to be the dumbest motherfucker on earth not to know what was going on, on his own property at all. Either way I want him out of Atlanta. LT said he would mind trying QB sometime, I’d take my chances with him at QB then have a new and improved Vick; at least he’s a decent person.

Well Dante’s on the market, who knows? At least we have the Bulldogs and (personally) the Game Cocks. Go Cocks!

you had a funny, if lame comment. It is unfortunate so many people are too ashamed of themselves to post real pictures.

You are either projecting a fake persona or are a weak minded individual scared of others opinions.

Either way, dog fighting is sick. Hopefully, Vick is convicted.

Are you kidding me? When he didn’t know any better? You are telling me that he didn’t know that dog fighting was illegal in 2001? Or having losing dogs killed in very inhumane ways was wrong? That is a very weak argument man.

I’m sure there is plenty of evidence proving that not only was he around but that he was a major player. I’ll bet the feds have a ton of evidence on him.

Yup, having animal lovers on the jury is the only thing that can get him convicted… it has nothing to do with say… EVIDENCE!

Well, I guess that makes everything he allegedly did not so bad huh?

I know that you are mostly a troll who likes to stir sh*t up so I don’t really expect a solid rebuttal from you. And honestly, I can’t believe I replied to one of your posts.

I must be really bored at work today.

Where did I say what he knows and don’t know? Please tell me. I specifically said things he can do to keep his image. Since we are discussing if he goes down, and how does he keep his image. As a star athlete whose money also comes from sponsors, he can’t just come out and say “hey I didn’t convicted its over” he has to create a spin and work on making his image better. Outside of the backwoods this is the way the world works.

You can be sure of whatever you want to be sure of. As I see it you have stated no factual evidence just what your “sure of”… to think you might be on a jury one day. The only thing any article has said is that he bought the house and that he gave the guys money. Thats why they are trying to get him on COOONNNNSSSPIRACY charges, meaning he doesn’t have to be there. Easier to convict when you have no HARD evidence of connection.

Definitely not with you since you haven’t stated any…I know you kiss your dog on the lips.

WTF? are you over there crying or something? that was in response to somebody saying what he did was horrible. Yeah the ways he did it was bad, and I was pointing out to that person it only gets worse.

…Here we go with this “Know” shit again. I’m sure glad this world doesn’t live off of your “knows” and “sure ofs”.
Hilarious stir up shit? Why because I say the truth? You must be an animal lover because you read everything I said like a personal attack instead of looking at the facts or evidence. It’s cool though I support PETA, should I send my donation to you?

The plot now thickens, one of the witnesses supposedly has said he was paid $23,000 by Vick as a cash reward for his dog winning a fight on Vick’s property.

Also, a couple of celebrity news pages have picked up the story:

www.thesuperficial.com

AOL has gotten on it too:

I agree this is BS. He and his brother are both scum. I hope he gets what is coming to him.
