Vernon Davis (Freak Of The 2006 NFL Combine)

Random thought: I think NFL probably has the best genetic pool in the world in terms of physical development. Other sports certainly have their share of big and strong guys but in the NFL, LOTS of these guys have all the combos - physique, power, speed, agility, size and so on…the whole nine yards.

No argument there. We had a debate about this recently. I am just wondering when the belief that “muscle is bad” began to crop up and take hold of a bodybuilding forum so bad. I had one guy argue that his 6’2" body was better at just around 200lbs because he was an “athlete” (no mention of what sport). This was in response to his 20 years of lifting experience in comparison to the stats he claimed and his massive supplement usage.

SI did a piece on Tony Parrish’s work with Athlete’s Performance as well.[/quote]

Man, how nice would life be if we could all look and perform like that on only 4,000 calories a day? And he’s 6’3’', 263!!! I know those numbers are inflated a lot of times, but hell, take away 20 pounds and he’s still 240. He even gained 9 pounds while doing two ninety-minute workouts a day, six days a week. If I tried to eat only 4,000 calories and work out 3 hours a day, I’d be a stick. This guy is truly blessed.

There might be other factors involved (more than likely, considering the circumstances and outcomes I listed above), but before someone starts bitching, I’m not saying “I don’t believe it!” or “Steroids!”. I don’t give a shit what he’s doing, any which way you slice it this guy truly is a freak.
