Venison and Chicken

Here’s a couple quick questions from us guys in the north country. First, has anyone incorporated venison in their diets. I typically have a full freezer of venison all year long and eat about two meals a week of it. Any advice on healthy meals ideas.

Secondly, chicken is so expensive when purchasing it fresh. How “poisonous” is the frozen raw chicken breasts.

Thanks guys.

Venison tends to dry out. I grind it up for Chili or stews. Also like it as venison burgers, sauteed with an onion or peppers. I also eat it about twice a week after deer season…until I run out. It is low in fat compared to beef or pork.

I buy Costco fresh chicken. Not the stuff in the 10 ib. bags. They are in a funky type of chicken six pack of envelopes. They are about $1.99/ib. usually. Same price as the frozen bags. No water or sodium added. That’s about as cheap as I see it. I don’t think the frozen stuff is all that bad. Thaw it out, Soak it in water and rinse.

Frozen raw chicken breasts are equal in “poison” to fresh chicken breasts.

i eat alot of venison. it doesn’t dry out if you don’t cook it so much. there’s almost no fat in it so it can’t handle as long on the heat as something w/more fat like beef. i prefer it as rare as possible.
