Conditioning

Really did not want to exercise at all today, surprised I even got this little bit of work in. Snatches were killing my elbows, that’s new but might be from shoveling and chopping ice this week. Rope was getting hung up on the ceiling and all the shit crowding my basement every 3rd or 4th jump and pissed me off so I just said fuck it and went upstairs.

Circuit style conditioning is usually pretty good for me, at least it was at one point. I’m for sure just being a baby today.

AM workout instead of PM. Got up early to get the crock pots all set up and decided to lift before the family got here instead of push it to tomorrow. Focus was a little off, probably due to no coffee yet, but didn’t affect the workout. Opted out of the short conditioning as I’ll be shoveling several times today.

Top set felt a little harder than it should have, last rep moved slower than I’d have liked. Chalking it up as an off day in a weird week. Holidays will do that.

I’d really like to pick up a set of power blocks for assistance work. I have adjustable dumbbells but they kinda suck.

Pretty much just waiting for a good deal to pop up locally. All the used ones are about a 2 hour drive one way, in which case I’d rather just spend the extra money on some new ones. They’re a pretty low priority item though, so I don’t mind waiting.

I do need to do this though, I’ve got a trap bar that’s begging to be carried around, just need to make the space in the basement to accommodate them.

Nice little session. Body isn’t feeling quite right the past couple days. Area around my SI joint is feeling kinda funky, no pain or discomfort but I can feel it, which is odd. Probably from shoveling and chopping ice all fucking week. Left knee is popping and clicking, again no pain or discomfort, but usually that’s reserved for the right knee. I’m sure they’ll clear up soon.

Here are my submission photos. These are actually a couple weeks old, but I don’t look any different. It’s currently anywhere between -5* to a whopping 4* around here so I’m in no rush to hang out in my underwear at the moment.

Weight is around 170 in these photos (same as this week). Goal by June is to be up around 180 at a similar level of leanness.

No time for a real session today but had a few minutes to kill waiting for the shower to open up so busted these out. Haven’t done a TGU in a while, forget how fun these are! I almost completed one with an unloaded barbell once but I couldn’t keep it balanced, may have to give this a shot again soon.

Tuesday morning weigh in: 170lbs

So I’ve been doing the Tuesday morning weigh in for about a month now. 170 seems to be my baseline with current diet practices. I’ll need to up my calorie intake a bit and become more consistent but that should be pretty easy for me.

Missed my last rep on my top set today. Shouldn’t have bothered with it based on how rep 4 felt but didn’t listen to better judgement, sometimes this is hard to do. I think I’m going to leave my squat TM at 235 for the anchor too based on how this cycle felt, see if I can push the same weights harder before moving it up again.
