Antifa does advocate street violence. They always have since their beginnings in Europe. By labeling anyone with views right of lib dems as “fascist” they are attempting to dehumanize and devalue their opponents. I do believe that comment captures the true spirit of Antifa if you look at the body of their work.
CBS leans left like all the other broadcast networks. They fired her, which reflects well on CBS. How someone smart enough to pass the bar could be dumb enough to make that statement baffles me. She felt secure enough in her echo chamber to make it. I was really disappointed with her, not the network.
Id rather use this thread to express condolences to those caught in this massacre–nobody in this city even knows about this yet. But, I do have to say that frequency of Mass shootings is not sharply up over the last 100 years (yes, you heard that correctly).
Then you and I are not familiar with the same Antifa, because the one I know of does not countenance machine-gunning children.
Hold on–why are you assuming the relevant variable is/was her employer? She’s a member of many groups–white, female, lawyer, in addition to being a former CBS VP. Why focus on her ‘CBS-ness’?
Agree with you in this context but would like to point out that there are 2 large problems with the definition as you stated it:
1st and foremost a large, very significant chunk of gang on gang violence fits this category and most people would not consider that a true “mass shooting” in the sense we are witnessing here.
2nd is that it states “shot” not “killed”. Theoretically one could fire at an intended target, have several thru and thrus that hot bystanders behind the target, and now it is officially a “mass shooting”. (Both the above problems have been documented)

Because that’s the story. That’s the only reason anyone cared who she was. If it was “inconsequential VP of noname company fired” it wouldn’t have made headlines. I actually congratulated CBS on firing her. Something in her bubble made her feel that was an alright thing to say… Maybe that’s CBS culture behind closed doors, maybe it isn’t.

So if I find a FB quote from some moronic conservative Christian saying something along the lines of ‘The Las Vegas massacre was brought on by its citizens, who incurred God’s wrath for their sinful behavior,’ I can post it and say “For anyone who doubted who conservative Christians are,” and you won’t have a problem with that?
If she were Muslim, would her status as a CBS VP status still be ‘the story’? Or would the story become ‘Muslim claims Vegas victims didn’t deserve sympathy’? (I strongly suspect that would be the story over at Fox News.)
The point being, you (and the headline writers) are concocting a story to fit a narrative.
