Wow! Second-guess everything they do and, eventually, they’ll second-guess themselves. Whodathunkit?
that’s what you got out of the full article, or that’s just the thing you already believed and are blindly applying it to this situation?
‘Police officers fucked up royally. Must be the liberal media’s fault!!’
No. What I really got out of the article is that I was reading bits of a critique from a bunch of academics.
Didn’t mention the media. Remember this?
Officers got to go to trial after returning fire.
You think stuff like that may enter into someone’s mind before pulling a trigger?
Edit: Would you go to bat for the officer if he’d shot and killed the guy before he entered the school, and it turned out the guy had crashed the car because it locked up, and he was fleeing a situation in which white supremacists had kidnapped him and were pursuing him after his escape?
In this situation? No, not a fucking chance.
Why do you think he sought permission to shoot?
I’m going to guess it’s basically anything other than ‘but what about Breonna Taylor???’
There’s been two years of calls for punishing police for everything that’s not 100% awesome. Breonna Taylor was just an example…similar to the situation faced by officers inside the school, though.
Edit: what’s your best guess as to the reason he sought permission?
I don’t actually blame the cop for asking the supervisor before taking the shot. I don’t know if that was their protocol or not, but the dude was about to shoot a kid… I get it. You can’t mess that up. That’s really the least egregious mistake I got out of that article. So I guess we probably agree on that part. I have a much bigger problem with multiple officers, with multiple guns, shields, and body armor, sitting inside the school for a fucking hour twiddling their thumbs, waiting for all the kids to die.
you’re really focusing on a thing we’re not far apart on here.
EDIT: I can also add that my best guess is what I said in my previous post. Shooting a teenager, who has not shot first, is a tough fucking thing to do, and he probably wanted to be absolutely certain on it, via a superior.
How many kids would you accept being killed by police during a gun battle with the shooter?
The media would accept zero and crucify the officers and guns.
It is ironic that media criticizes the police for not going in with their guns sooner while also blaming guns for killing the kids.
So it’s either the gun’s fault, or it’s the person using the gun’s fault… we’re just not sure yet.
Depends on the level of ability to push their narrative.
Which, I’m now confident, is, “Armed people are of no use against firearms, so firearms need to be prohibited.”
Why would the police kill kids? Have you ever fired a gun? You actually look at what you’re going to shoot before you fire.
I think people are criticizing the cops for not doing their job.
Except when they are used to protect the politicians (masters), money, or used by the state for force to make you comply.
The only thing I thought of, reading your response:

I don’t get it.
This is the first school shooting where the officers have been crucified. And I still think it’s for good reason.
Umm…that guy at Parkland was crucified (and for good reason).
