Peteman, and for those who aren’t familiar with Toronto: Toronto is not the squeeky clean city that Michael Moore makes it out to be. Trust me! I don’t know anyone who DOESN’T lock their doors. The gang violence here is getting very bad. Just last weekend, within a 48 hour span there were 3 people killed by gang related shootings.

You know if we stopped all this US-Canada bickering bullshit we would be better off. The US has continuously supported Canada;whether it was economically, militarily, or otherwise. Yes, our cultures are very similar yet subtly different;Homer Simpson (based on Groening’s Canadian father I believe) had a near accurate statement when he called Canada America Junior. As for the American economy, Canada adds an easily accessible market of 30 million or so people for US corporations, as well as our resource aundance. I love Canada, and I love the US, they are both great in their own way. Canada wouldn’t be here today if America didn’t pave the way. I am Canadian and I am proud to say it; and that’s my pro Canada, pro America rant, I hope I didn’t waste your time.
Being deployed overseas I’ve come to respect the lives that we all live north of the border, whethere the USA or Canada. The USA has the largest say and contribution to international communities and affairs, and therefore will take the blame or the praise. It is not an easy position to be in. However, I believe I fully understood Disturbed_One’s point - that we need to sit back, shut up, and think about how lucky we are to live the lives we do. I don’t think he was suggesting that we stop doing any of the duties that we do, or cut-off any relationships. It’s easy to complain, we expect things to be perfect because we are from such great nations.

The USA and Canada should join forces and invade Mexico!
I strongly believe that everyone that applies for a Visa should be given a deadline to learn to speak English. For example, 4-5 years. Instead, the government has all these fricking programs to help these people, while neglecting our own. Just think about it; if you want to open a small business chances are you are not going to qualify for any help because you not considered “minority.” If you don’t believe me just try to get help from the small business bureau. It was very frustrating for me to find out that I was alone when I tried to apply for some financial assistance to start a small business. Furthermore, I dislike to hear some talk badly about our country. If you don’t like what we have to offer or our culture, simply get the fuck out and go back to where you came from. Perhaps then, you’ll be able to appreciate who we are as a whole. The government spends billions of dollars yearly on programs to help enrich other cultures in this country, yet many, not all, tend to not appreciate this help and instead criticize our government. Just my two cents on this subject.
My favorite part was this:

I live in a trailer. My mom lives in a trailer. My dad is a mobile home salesman, and owns a mobile homes sales lot, with my grandparents on his side. (they all live in trailers too). My grandfather and grandmother own 3 40 lot mobile home parks. They live in a double wide trailer. My grandfather used to move mobile homes for a living. I have to help them keep the parks running. Many mobile homes are better looking then the average house. Those who dwell in trailer houses are NOT responsible for this countries problems.
