Sorry, I thought T-Nation PWI was a place where one could openly speak of their religious convictions, I certainly know many have in other threads.
For Christians, caring for the poor is a direct call from God. Many of these immigrants, both legal and illegal, are quite poor.
If you don’t like to talk about religion, please feel free to excuse yourself from the conversation or ignore that part of the conversation. A poster said something akin to “why would I care about them,” the simple reply was, “You’re an america, so you don’t have to follow any particular beliefs.” Christians are obligated to care simply because they are poor. If you’re not a Christian, there’s really no reason to complain about my post. I was simply saying that I respect your alternative lifestyle.
Pardon me, but I am a Christian. It is for that reason that I find your ignorance disturbing.
I think his particular brand of Christianity is akin to that of Jeremiah Wright. It appears to be a liberation theology of some sort.
We should all show solidarity with the illegal alien. We’ll all go off the grid, not get driver licenses and car inusrance, work it out with our employer to pay us under the table, etc.

but then they would have no particular advantage, and as a result, would be less inclined to vote democrat.
and if that happens…how are we supposed to become a socialist nation?

Sorry bucko my family and friends come before strangers. I go to church every sunday. If can’t help myself and those close to me first how can I help someone that refuses to do the right thing and help themselves.
You are basically advocating these people exploiting benefits not due to them. You are entitled to your beliefs. I’m just curious how you would explain to someone who has been directly affected by the crime of an illegal alien, sorry it was unavoidable. Rape victim, vehicular manslaughter in a DUI. You are looking at an economic burden from a religious standpoint.

I’m sorry if this is difficult for you all to reconcile, but it’s pretty basic stuff really. Christians should care about and for the poor.

We do. However, the poor aren’t above the law anymore than I am. When we’ve done away with taxpayer funded entitlements, health-care, schools, prisons, and roads perhaps this won’t be an issue.

I don’t know if you realize what the topic was here. PRcal started this topic based on non tax paying illegal aliens. You hijacked this thread and turned it into an “I’m christian so I help everyone” thread. You got holier than thou when I said I don’t want my tax dollars(the op’s original topic here) going to someone who hopped the fence to have a baby.
I can’t wait to hijack your next thread with completely off topic rhetoric. Here’s an idea. Why don’t you start a thread on what a good christian you are and how many unfortunate people you have saved from famine and death.

I noticed your profile says you are a student. Do you just go to school or do you work full time and live on your own? I’m not trying to be a smart ass or condescending, but it makes a difference.

Unless they have internet access in heaven I’ll assume you typed that from here, the physical world. A world in which we order society with laws, governmental institutions, and citizenship.
Let me ask you this, should I also be free of man’s laws? Do you think I should be allowed to opt out of paying for social programs?

Actually you said, “
Am I really supposed to give a shit about the person who hopped a fence to have their baby here on my medicaid dollar?
” and of course you should “give a shit” about the poor if you are a christian.

Yes, the difference is, I stayed on topic. You got off the original topic of illegal aliens who don’t pay taxes.
Do you work full time and live on your own, or is that student title in your profile correct?

I think its pathetic that an illegal pregnant woman can have a free child birth at a hospital, while a female citizen has to pay. Thats just a slap in the face.
yea god forbid we live in a country that shows compassion to those in need.
whats really pathetic is so many people take their own luxury for granted.
People get these “luxuries” because they work for them. That statement you made shows just whats wrong with you bleeding heart liberal bumble-fux.
Healthcare is a product not a right or a privilege
oh thats right i forgot, when you were a baby you built the house over your head, you go to school on your own, you bought all of your food. Everything that allowed you to grow up successfully, and be able to afford health care was all on your shoulders, your parents threw you into the woods after birth with nothing.
your statement just shows how much of a stupid cunt you are who cant accept the fact that growing up in a 1st world nation automatically provides you with luxury.

You are a fool in every meaning of the word.
And since you directed your Childishness at me, what exactly is the point you are trying to make?

You asked a specific question and I gave a specific answer. “Are you supposed to care about hte poor?” As a Christian, yes. There’s really nothing “off topic” about this.
As I said, this is America, if you’re not a Christian, that’s okay.
As far as your personal questions, which you’ve now repeated, they seem much more “off topic” than anything I’ve posted. But let me assure you that I am much older than you seem to think I am. If you really want to know about me, feel free to send a PM.
Am I really supposed to give a shit about the person who hopped a fence to have their baby here on my medicaid dollar?
No, not all of us are christians/religious, so I can accept that you don’t care for those less fortunate than you.
What does this have to do with anything? It is charitible to take someone else’s money and give it indiscriminately to somebody else, deserving or not? Why not just let them tag along at work with you. You do the work and then split the check come payday. How is this any different?
Why stop at money? If they need a place to stay maybe the gov’t can coax you to open up a bedroom for them? What about your wife or daughter? I am sure there are some horny immigrants. If you’re getting some, why not them? What about your salvation Mr. Christian? You live the good life while I live in sin. Come judgement day I am sure you would be willing to give up your salvation.
When people give of themselve freely it is charitable, not when they are robbed. This nation has proven to be very charitable, but there is only so much to go around. I would rather give my money to Wounded Warriors or other charities that with the same priorities as me. Not gang bangers, criminals, and parasites.
When gov’t takes more, people have less to give. Guess who distributes charitable donations more effectively.
