US should not attack Iraq

I believe that the Americans and the UK goverment’s have managed to shoot themselves in the foot in the last week or so. There has been this huge clamor surrounding Iraq, weapons inspectors, weapons of mass destruction and so on. While these are valid points and need to be addressed, I can’t help but feel that they’ve gone about it the wrong way. Iraq has agreed to weapons inspectors to be allowed in unconditionally, however now the US goverment with UK tagging along, has said “NO, not enough. We want to change your leadership regime regardless!”

The rest of the world is viewing this with deep suspicion, it is effectively changing the goal posts. By building up such a momentum to go to war, it looks like that peace is not an option. Or at least peace without a puppet regime in Iraq! Which loops back to suspicion of the oil need of the western world.

Whilst I agree that the world would be better without Saddam, (as long as someone worse isn't installed) I feel that the US/uk has shown it's hand before the round really started - and ended up looking stupid and gung-ho about it all.
