The perfect storm that would allow a 3 time presidential loser and running mate that dropped out before the first primary vote was cast, to garner millions more votes than either the first black or woman candidate, is simply too hard for me to logically believe.

I keep seeing this talking point thrown around and it makes little sense to me. The 2020 election had early in person voting for weeks in some areas. It had more mail in ballots than ever. The candidate who ran in 2016 who wasn’t exactly a ton more popular than then gathered 10 million more votes.

Biden is not more popular than Obama was. But Obama didn’t have an election with so many more options and time. The way the election was ran due to the pandemic gave both sides more time to boost turnout. Obama in the same conditions would likely have had far more than Biden did. But it’s absolutely not surprising that when you give people more time and chances to vote that turnout will be higher.

The biggest takeaway is that if you don’t limit people voting to 12 hours on a random Tuesday turnout is increased. But if Trump can increase turnout by 10 million I’m not sure how increased Dem turnout is so surprising. Especially with the fact that Biden was significantly more popular than Hilary.

Obama in 2008 received 53% of the vote while Biden only 51%. It’s just the higher turnout that led to greater absolute totals for both candidates in 2020.

I wouldn’t think anyone thinks a straight up recount will change the outcome, if veracity of ballot is not ascertained. I have zero training and knowledge of what legal basis that particular recount was called, other than perhaps margin of victory.

Seriously, Harvard Law grad, great confidence at public speaking, knows how to control and dominate a crowd without having to resort to shouting or threats. And she’s so young and still gaining experience and knowledge.

She’s a great asset to anyone.
