Who said anything about it being ineffective?

I am affiliated with an American Top Team school run by a former BJJ World Champion (is that legit enough for you?) and he totally recognizes the effectiveness and cross trains with my instructor to learn the Street Jiu-Jitsu/RMA ground fighting .

Relax mate.

I don’t think anyone here actually ever wrote that BJJ is ineffective. Having grappled with good people, I know how bloody effective it is. If you’re not at their level, you literally feel powerless and like you’re nothing more than a toy in their evil hands that they can break whenever they feel like it.

That being said, not everyone is good. Heck, most people are not good. Hence, it stands to reason that BJJ can be a truly effective art only when you’re good at it. You should be very careful if you plan on using it in any real-life situation.
