AccipiterQ,
Many of the members are bashing you because posts like yours pop up in the Rate My Physique forum all too often.
My honest opinion…
You look like the average college student that hits the gym 3 times a week and spends more time talking to his buddies about weekend plans than actually lifting. You may be hawt by “normal” standards, but most T-Nation posters do not agree with those standards.
Maybe its just the picture, but it looks like you have no lower back. That should be a priority, especially if you want a big, strong deadlift.
If you want some good advice, post some pics that don’t look like they belong on myspace, or goofy pictures that are a few years old. Include leg shots, and maybe tell us something about your goals and what you’re doing now.
And, if you want another “chick’s” opinion, a guy should have broad shoulders, a strong back and massive legs. Abs are nice, but not the only thing that matters.
Yes! I second your opinion as a fellow “chick” ![]()

That’s true unless… we consider those that rathe themselves a 10.

I ALWAYS rate myself a 10.
Wow stu, 15 inch forarms, that’s pretty damn impressive unless I know nothing about measurements, good work!
Why do you people keep saying to stop posting myspace like photos, everyone knows facebook is the new myspace…geez ![]()
OP you seem to have a good attitude towards lifting, but people here get so frustrated with people who claim a certain lift but there physique doesn’t match. Russ Parker was flamed big time but he then posted videos and few people ate there words, so do the same and shut a few people up, stop ignoring it there requests…you going to post a video or not?
I routinely notice people on this site stating their disbelief as to how much people lift and always calling them out. Where do you lift?
225 on the bench is very common. I’ve seen guys like him bench 225 for a few good reps at every gym I’ve ever been in. 315 for a rep or two is somewhat common, 315 for multiple reps starts to become uncommon. Anything above that gets more and more rare. The deadlift is also believable and is probably hard for some people to accept as they may be the only one in their gym who actually deadlifts, thus it is something they cant relate to.
As far as your physique goes, on a less serious site, you would have a much better rating. That is not this site however. You look healthy and lean and far better than the average couch potato. If you want to improve your rating here, put on some mass and work on improving those lifts.

Thanks, but again, while I can acknowledge my own progress (been training a long long time), I don’t go around tooting my own horn and bragging about what I lift. Why? because there are mzny people out there who will have much better numbers and stats than I do.
I think training is a sort of personal journey, you against yourself, and while it’s great to be damn proud of any sort of progress, you need to keep things in mind. SOmeone like the OP of this thread looks, quite simply, ‘normal’. He doesn’t look like a bodybuilder, powerlifter, or anything much more than a high school athlete.
I’m not saying this to knock him, as I can see he obviously trains, but to anyone with any real time put in in the weight room, there are certain signs of gut busting training whether you look like a bodybuilder or not. While my forearms got damn popeye-esque doing 5 plate deads, I didn’t magically look like Dorian Yates.
My Obliques thickened up considerably (not fat, but blocky, stabilizing muscle), and my traps grew as well. If the OP was indeed pulling the sort of weight he states, there’s no way he’d have those spindley little arms, and a girly little waist we see in his pics. I think that’s why so many people are knocking away.
Sure, there are always the jealous haters, who challenge anyone who can do more than they can, but I don’t believe that’s the case in many of the responses here.
And as to the “myspace pics”? I think you see a vast difference in the people who post honest ‘please give me CONSTRUCTIVE criticism’ pictures, and those who set up the perfect shot at the perfect angle to only show their own tiny bit of muscle in an attempt to get their ego inflated. It’s just human nature, but to make real progress, you have to have a certain amount of honesty with yourself.
My back’s been a mess for the last month or so from a snow boarding incicent. I know I’m softening up a bit, and my training partner’s giving me all sorts of suggestions in response to what he sees. Sure, he could blow smoke up my ass and say “Nah man, you still look fucking diesel!'” but that’d be aload of crap, and it’s not how we make gains.

The Mighty Stu is correct… I have never seen someone squat 335, deadlift 400, and bench (i forgot his #), and look like this. Even if you ate like a starving child, you still form muscles that are capable of these lifts. This is simply not the case, and these numbers are simply not true.
As Stu described… your forearms get huge, you grow lats and traps, and have a rather thick posterior chain/core to support the immense weight.
I guess that portal from BB.com that Professor X mentioned still hasn’t been boarded up.
His lack of lats was the first thing I noticed, then came out the lack of posterior chain, which indicates the lack of deadlifting a number like that…which to me is a good number.
Once again OP, just post a video, it’s not hard.

Anyway, as a “chick” I prefer a man with mass. Big arms, chest, back, legs, etc. I’m not into the lean look. Well, that was just my two cents as to what this “chick” digs.

And Bmitch, congratulations, you are at post count 666. Scaaaaarrrryyyyyy.

you’d kill to look like me. You don’t think I have enough mass? Your bird chested and you’re a fatass. You lose the fat and you’ll look better? I’ll add 10 lbs. of mass and blow you out of the water. I’m just getting started and I’m in awesome shape already while you look like one of those nutrasystem ‘before’ pictures.

I can do 11 ‘sissy style’ and 7 regular. so there
There is no fucking way ur doing 7 regular with a bench of around 235 and bw of 175. NO WAY. Im bw 180 and i can do 52 (strict form until the last 5-8 where they look a bit weird) and my bench is only 135 x 6, so either ur lying about ur bench, or u have REALLY crappy form in a pushup…
I want video of you benching 235. I think you look good, but I’m a little confused as to why you posted pictures on this site- you have an underwear model physique, which is nothing to be ashamed of, but physiques like that don’t impress anyone on T-Nation, unless you achieved that physique after being obese.
I’ve never seen anyone who looks like you move the weights that you claim. I hope you post video and prove me wrong.

ROFL, just caught that. You’d be hardpressed to find ANYONE on this site whose serious that would kill to look like you. And you’d be hardpressed to find a female on this site who’d kill to have her man look like you.
Don’t flatter yourself. I guess you didn’t understand the premise of this website. lol.
Do you think you could provide videos of yourself hitting any of the numbers you claim on the big 3?
'Cause until you do, just about everybody on this site (myself included) is going to call bullshit.
Oh yeah, lose the ego. You still have a long way to go before your physique can even be considered “respectable”
dude, birds have huge chests. watch what you say about birds or else the mighty american bald eagle will mistake you for prometheus and rip out your “stomach folds” (well said getswole) and then proceed to remove your liver with his omnipotent beak of liberty. unlike prometheus, those bumps on your stomach will not grow back. nor will your liver. you may ask “but why won’t my liver and hellah sexy abs grow back?!?-what if i do a million super crunches in my tighty whiteys?” the answer would be: though you may have convinced yourself that you have, you have not stolen any fire whatsoever from any of the gods at T-Nation.
oh, and no you will not be able drink anymore “apple-tini’s” because you will have no liver.
