I you wanted so much advice on your physique why didn’t you post some real poses. Everything is just you bent over squeezing your abs as hard as possible, or pushing your shoulders blades together. What are we supposed to give you advice?

Its not that this forum dislikes new members. But I find it annoying when the first thing people do is want a “Rate me” before they’ve even look around much. Save your defense that you have looked around and all that I really dont care. Nor do I care if you think I have low self esteem or am an asshole.

You want my advice on your physique?

Eat a lot more, Lift a lot harder and more intensely, using the compound lifts. Pack some more mass on your entire frame. Thats what you need.
alright, I posted quad/ass/hamstring and a bicep&forearm pose.

Because im too busy focusing on yours… ZING!
Honestly though ur legs are fantastic

To the OP you came on here with some gay myspace photos… then come in with the psycho-analysis bs telling ppl they are insecure and to realize not everyone has huge muscles everywhere. Like what is this shit… ur not posting on a fitness forum… ur posting on a bodybuilding forum and u have to realize that the standards here are very different.

What ppl most ppl think of u: Wow hes buff just look at his abs and that sweet pose he’s doing so u can see all his tone everywhere… i bet he really knows his way around a bosu ball

What ppl here think of u: Wow hes not big at all. look at his lack of … everything and that gay pose that shows nothing but low bodyfat on his abs… i bet he really doesn’t know too much about lifting

couple things… u wonder how to flew ur lats… u dont have any yet to flex… .do u do pull-ups and chin-ups? do u do them weighted?

u say u have been lifting nine years… i honestly feel bad for u… i went through a long period (5ish years) where i also “lifted” but didn’t really have a good sense of all the variables i needed in place

feel lucky that u found T-Nation its probably the best free resrouce for lifting there is… now the thing is u seek advice and its actually quite simple… start reading!!!

look at the beginners section (yes yes i know u dont think u are a beginner and neither did i… but trust me u are) read the artciles they recommend for beginners trust me… .then just start reading as mcuh as u can… if u honestly read this stuff and then put it to practice u will gain more in the next couple months than in the past 9 years

let me summarize very briefly what the articles will say

use 80% compound movements and train the bigger more compounds first
compounds = squat, dl, pullup, bent over row, bench press, military press
save the isolation stuff for the last exercises in ur workout… delt raises, curls, etc…

eat alot more than u are eating now (and i suspect this is ur main problem)
eat clean and time nutrients properly

also u dont squat and DL that much with proper form… look up artciles on proper form on post of those… there is a three part series i think on mastering the deadlift… and tons on squat

Thank You!

btw, Yes, I do pullups, I can strap a 25 lbs. plate and bang out 5 or 6 on the first set.

weird man, im 5"10 170ish and i look bigger than you, and my legs look way bigger, yet i can only squat 280 parallel.

either i feel good, or i feel shitty about my self for being so weak for my size.

AccipierQ. post a pic of you deadlifting 400 I call complete utter B.S. on that. Your back looks like it couldnt even hold a bar on it to squat with let alone deadlift 400
I gotta go along with this. I try to be constructive as much as I can, but there’s no way you’re pulling a ‘good’ 400 dead. If you are somehow moving the weight off the floor and standing with it, I’m sure it’s damn ugly sight.

I make no claims to be a powerlifter, although I routinely hear how strong I am (not bragging, because there are many guys who would bury me in the gym). At my best, I pulled 500, ONCE, with a belt, and straps, white zombie blasting on my headphones, and a helluva lot more muscle than you seem to be sporting here. Now, I’m not Ronnie Coleman, but when I was lifting these types of weights, my forearms measured 15 inches around (which looked pretty damn big at 5’9). Why?! Because I honestly lifted the weights, not just told people I did, or used some sort of weird body jerking motion to get the bar from point A to point B. I seriously doubt your other lifts as well. I could see you benching 185, but 225 is the begining of moving ‘big boy’ weights, and as nicely as I can put this… you’re not under that classification yet judging by your pics.

As for benching I’ve made a lot of progress there over the last few months, I’m traditionally a piss-poor bencher, and it shows in the lack of pec development. It’s getting better though, I finally got the form nailed down. As for my benching, last Monday I pushed 230 for a few reps, 215 for 5, 200 for 5, and then did a 185 5x5. I don’t bounce the weight or use a spot to get up or the rep doesn’t count.

question: When measure forearms do you go from an ‘arm curled’ position, or with your arm fully extended? I’ve heard both ways.

I think the easy answer is that it’s more visible. But you aren’t generalizing when you say men focus more on the upper body, it’s true. But I’ve noticed the opposite to be true with girls. 99% of women in the gym spend their time on the leg press, leg curl, leg ext, lunges, treadmill, eliptical, and maybe the stairmaster. And that can be in the same workout! I rarely have seen them putting even a quarter of the effort into their upper bodies.

Judging by your legs and your upper body, you obviously fall into the other 1% who just trains, period.

Thank you! Yes, I do train (all over) and I love it! But, I also realize I need to improve certain areas. I’d like to cap my shoulders and get some more definition in my rear delts. I’d also like to bring out my lats a bit more and add a bit more madss to my arms. My legs are fine, though I will not stop training them.

I have to say that i don’t think a 400 pound deadlift is anything crazy, and wouldn’t be surprised if this guy good pull it off. There are quite a handful of kids in high school who can deadlift 400 plus and this guy, although he’s not big in bodybuilding standards, is still above average regarding non training individuals.

Stu, i know you’re a strong dude, i remeber you said you could military 265, but a 500 pound deadlift is decent in powerlifting standards. I can deadlift almost 500, 485 to be exact and thats after having a back injury in december. to say the least, you have a much thicker developed physique then me, but are deadlifts are very close.

Your hamstringal area is really lacking. By the way, what is your body fat percentage?

hmmm that’s odd I always thought I had larger upper legs. I have a 31" waist but when I buy jeans with a 31, or even 32" waist, unless they’re baggy fit I can’t get into them because the legs of the jeans feel like they’re choking my upper legs to death.

As for body fat, I haven’t had it done in about 8 months, it was 11.something then and I don’t think it’s much different now, maybe a shade lower

Maybe you’re shopping in the womens dept?

big or small legs, jeans for men are becoming tighter and tighter these days. 2 weeks of shopping, i could only find one pair that fits without going 4" more on the waist…

yah ur legs are not big especially glutes and hams… u need to work on overall leg development but i think u need to put more emphasis on the posterior chain

Absolutely, even 5 years ago when I was about 15 lbs heavier, and most of that lower body mass, I could still occasionally find jeans that fit right. Now I can’t find a dang thing

After the input here that’s what I’ve been planning on doing.

Either your pics are fucking terrible or you don’t pull 400… and if you squat mid 300’s… you go 1/2 the way down.

I would be oo soo impressed if you posted a couple videos… i’m sure you can find a friend who has a digi camera… then simply upload it here. You don’t even have to do a max rep, just do your regular squat day of ya know… 285 for reps or w/e, and DL 350 for a couple reps.

I will shut-up after that… until then, no way in hell do I believe you.

p.s sorry for a bit of hijack… but it seems a recurring theme in this thread… you look phenomenal venusismyplanet… impressive.

Thank you Shane; I really appreciate that even though I wrote I need to improve certain areas
