I think either halting deadlifts or deficit deadlifts have to enter the mix on DL day. I gotta get stronger off the floor. The dead stop GMs seem to be doing their job for mid-shin pull portion.

The overhead dollar-fiddies are fun, but I don’t think they load the top end of the movement enough, which is my real struggle. I think I’ll replace those with high incline bench press using the same grip I use for OHP.

240 was much easier than the 245 single I id three weeks ago. No strain at all.

Pin presses about 8 inches off the chest, right where my triceps take over. Totally sucked, so they stay in.

No training tonight. Some funky takeout food had me clearing my intestines all through the early morning hours and I still ain’t right.

When I read the new title I thought 2busy was back…lol
I mixed MetDrive with half &half yesterday and it had the same effect as funky takeout :anguished:

Large shirts are now sorta tight and XL now fits like a large used to.
A pleasant development. I sorta look like I might lift weights now.

I couldn’t help but think of this snl skit.

I’m going to have to hold off on high bar squatting for a while. For some reason it’s been irritating my left hip and right quad above the knee. They warm up okay during squatting, but then make things difficult outside the gym.

Left elbow is nagging a bit, too after the neutral grip pullups, so I may only work those in infrequently.

Basically did 8 reverse curls, changed grip and did 5 more regular curls.
Gawd I’m cooked. Two more sessions to go in the mini cycle and then I can deload.

Thought I’d be wrecked today, being as yesterday was one of the hardest sessions I’ve done. But I guess all my squat days have been like that this cycle. I feel just fine though.

Everything I’ve been reading about older lifters is saying that we need more volume and more protein to get the same anabolic response as younger ones.

I’m okay with that.

I like red meat and I like training. More is better.

That’s really interesting, and comforting, I’ve been going 400+ grams protein and much more carbs than usual the last 5 days and weight has barely gone up. Going to start a 531 program next week and looking forward to progressing my lifts!

I’ve done 5/3/1in the distant past, but didn’t use the BBB strategy…because I thought it would be boring. Now I think it would be effective.

Doing same lift on the 5x10 or the alternate?
