Kinda depleted tonight, but got the important stuff in at the beginning. Good session. The power snatches were unintentional. My body just wouldn’t drop down under the bar. Usually means I’m trying to do too much when that happens.
felt strong today. Hitting good positions on snatch and going under pretty well. Had a couple of drops, but was always able to do an extra rep to make up. Press was ridiculous easy for some reason. Going to try to move FS to triples @ 255.
The OLY lifts are looking good. Thanks for pointing me to the pendlay.com site, it has a lot of good information. Go for it on those FS triples. Hope to see you hitting bigger numbers soon. The 500 lbs front squat is one of my next goals.
Have to re-eval priorities. I simply don’t have enough time to drive everyone to their destinations and then to work, work, pick everybody up, do home stuff and then attempt to train. I might be able to do a weekend blast at the gym and then a sandbag night at home during the week, but I doubt I’ll have time for the latter.
At least I have choices in the matter…but I think that if I can’t get the frequency, O-lifting is likely on hold. Again.
PP felt great. Clean was smooth and the press was strong. I was good for more, but I want to save some for another PR later.
SQ - not staying on my heels, so I get forward on the heaviest weights, but 340 was faster than it’s been in the past.
I think DL will go back in the mix, but only for 3’s and 5’s, no maxes. I want speed from them.
Hope you can work out the vehicle situation so you can carve out training time.
Nice Clean/PP’s - those are big.
Easy to get forward on the high bar squats. Thought you were a low bar guy?

I can move more weight using low-bar, but can’t get my rear end on my heels and so strengthen the receive position for SN/CJ with it. Squatting is an assistance movement rather than a competition movement for me right now and high bar works better for that.

Thats good squatting there Tony and those pandlay’s are awesome.[/quote]
Thanks Joe. I should have done 3’s rather than 5’s and work up to 5 reps over the next few weeks on the Pendlay rows, the form was pretty awful after the third rep.
Sorry folks, just not too much to write about since I haven’t been getting into the gym. Been reading your logs, though.
Just started up again, so I’m frigging sore and have the super-stretchy hurt in the old adductors.
Last session I got a comment from some youngster that I go real low on squats. I told him that it just looks that way because, well, I go real low on squats.
