Called it there.

Matched all time PR for a split jerk and it didn’t look any better than it did a year ago. Feh. It is getting better though. Starting to land on the ball of the back foot about half the time and the side to side spread is happening now.

No enery tonight. Wanted to stop after CJs but I stuc to the plan pretty much. No down sets for presses, shoulders were feeling creaky. Very happy with the 165 for three, especially when feeling this way.

Really nice session Tony. Great work.

Thanks jw.

I tried the pop-and-drop on cleans rather than swing-and-shrug. It worked pretty well. I can probably clean more weight than I could get up from right now, given the way the 215 crashed onto my shoulders. I had a good six inches to spare. If I can lengthen and firm up my split stance on the jerk, I’ll have some massive PRs coming.

I was watching a video of Dmitry Klokov from 2005 and noticed that, like most elte-level weightlifters, he doesn’t pull his feet up and slap them down during the jerk, but kind of lifts them just a little and floats them out fore and aft, almost straight legged. I saw in particular the back foot came back like he was pushing a scooter along. Less work and more stable than trying to balance after a lift and slap-down.

I’m going to incorporate that if I can.

I’m screwing my workouts with Skyrim.

Damn you, Elder Scrolls! There’s not enough time to do both.

It’s obvious which has to go - I need to Level Up in real life.

lol - with the Sheiko program I workout 7hrs a week within a 3 day period. That leaves me 4 days of skyrim and wine - but shhhh. don’t tell. it will ruin my cred. lol

I’m starting to hunt for stuff to do now I’ve finished so many quests.

ready for PRs

I was thinking this was an awful session after missing all those snatches. But I snatched 165 twice (!) and squatted 330 deep AND pressed 165 4 times…and that’s pretty darned good for me. So it was another good session.

Yeah I’d call that a good session as well.

nice PRs and nice clean up.

Thank you Joe and Nance.

That’s all. Doesn’t look like much, but it got me pretty tired. Got home late from work so had to train late. I’d been waiting all day to try that 225 CJ.

The 225lb CJ I almost made. Pressed it out due to bad split.

I know the feeling. My training doesn’t look like much when I write it out but it kicks me ass.

you know, there is no real proof that you can’t fly. you just need to make sure you get a good start

Nice PR string you have going Tony. C&J are really coming along.

Quite right. I think the same.

Too much effort; I just hop on my flying unicorn for that.
