Until the Wheels Fall Off

I see you are still doing a shit ton of volume. Its certainly worked for you before.

It doesn’t seem like it to me, since most of it is just warmups and there are only two work sets on each major lift, but I guess the warmups count too.

So do you find that during a break from lifting you gain weight or lose it?

DCA will definitely lose weight -he’s all muscle, and he doesn’t eat!

I’m not DCA, but my .02: it depends. You will lose muscle mass since you’re not lifting, and the books say that a lb of muscle will burn between 30-50 cals per day just by being there (maintenance); if you do not adjust your food intake accordingly, you will gain fat weight; the net overall gain or loss of total body weight will depend on your weight loss from muscle loss vs. any fat weight gained through non-adjustment of diet.

I lost 5 lbs. I generally lose a bit of weight when I stop lifting because I also stop eating as much.

Today, though, I was fueled by 1600+ calories of Burger King heaven - which I would be pleased to do every day…Love those double and triple whoppers.

I am the same way-

I cant keep up with the eating- when not training.

triple whopper hmmmm.

Didn’t have time to train last night - the commute is totally fragging me. Won’t have time to train tonight, either. 3 hours of commute a day so far this week. Gotta start looking at using rail-based alternatives…

Thats inspiring volume Tony. Great work.

Fully recovered is very good news. Nothing keeps you down for long.

A three hour commute? That sucks. I was unaware that CA had rail alternatives, but it sure beats the freeway if you can do it.

I found a route that only takes an hour each way, so that’s a bit better…

will they let you come in pre-traffic, and work a weird shift, like 6-3?

you need the ice cream and ribs diet. that’ll pack some pounds on

Yup - they know the score regarding traffic since they have to get through it themselves. I don’t get to work until 10 or later. I’m functionally incapable of waking up before 7:30 so I just arrive late and stay late.

Speaking of ribs - my wife made an awesome and oversized steak last night. I almost stole my son’s portion off his plate after finishing mine…

Had more in me for the squats but stopped at 345. That’s a 30lb gain from 2 weeks ago, so I’m happy. Bench felt solid too.

30lbs in 2 weeks is good stuff.

mmm steak. just planned tonight’s supper

Nice paused squatting. 30lb gain in two weeks is massive.

Deadlifts sucked. Felt way heavy. Still down 40 lbs on them. I’m counting 455 as a start point. Couldn’t seem to find a lower body exercise that would do what I wanted until I hit the good mornings. Those felt right but I had to keep it light.
