Unspoken Bald Brotherhood

I used to Mach 3 along with shaving gel.

I see a couple of you guys use the King of Shaves stuff. Is it that much better than shaving gel?

I’ve tried the soap method too and I feel like I don’t get a close enough shave when I do.

Curious, anyone do anything about the shine? My wife always gives me crap about that.[/quote]

rubbing alcohol will take the oil off your head. Then it won’t shine.

Starting shaving my head only 3 weeks ago. I’ve been going back and forth between Mach III with a nice heavy Vulfix handle that I also use on my face, and Headblade. So far they each have advantages and I haven’t settled on one or the other.

I use the same shaving cream and aftershave I use for my face: Anthony Logistics Shave Cream and Razor Burn Repair. Yeah its pricey stuff, but I have sensitive skin and the good stuff is worth it to me.

I cannot believe somebody a thread like this. I shaved my head for the first time ever over the holidays because I always wanted to, but finally actually did it. I was going to ask this very question.

It is a major pain in the ass actually for me. No matter how many times I think I got everything, upon rubbing around there’s ALWAYS some spot I missed. I was thinking of trying on those hair removing creams, but was a little hesitant about what it would do to my skin and or what trans dermal effects there may be.

For now it’s the Mach 3 Turbo.

I haven’t made the jump to using a razor to shave the head yet. I’ve been losing the hair for a while and it’s pretty thin on top. But for some reason I just can’t bring myself to actually shaving it fully.

I just use an electric shaver with no attachments. I like the feeling of having some hair on my head. But who knows, maybe I’d like completely bald better!

Welcome to the bald world! Liberating huh?! I tried nair in my early days of shaving, it burned like hell and did not work very well at all! Stick with the razor. I have been shaving my head for 5 years and still miss a spot or two at times.

How does that not burn the shit out of your head? IMO i love the glossy look.

I don’t need to shave. Mine is falling out perfectly. I just use clippers to touch up my sideburns and “friar’s halo”.

I’d shave my head however I have an old scar from splitting my head open diagonal across so I’d look like a giant penis with the scar

Yeah, and you don’t want people to have anymore reasons to call you dickhead.

Disposable Schick Extreme III and King of Shaves.

The Extreme III curves to maintain contact with your noggin, and you can thump out the hair that gets stuck in the blades without the blades falling off the handle.

Black & Decker power planer.

Some salt rubbed in afterwards to gently soften plus help soak up the blood.

Yeah, they have this stuff at the place on the corner that says it’s designed specifically for black men’s heads, whatever that means. I bought a tube of it, but haven’t tried it yet.

A Chinese guy owns this hair product store that caters overwhelmingly to black folks and here I am a fair skinned, blue eyed white guy buying stuff designed to make black men bald, handing my money to an Arabic women. How’s that for diversity?

Man up!

This is the only way!

Because there is running water…AND SOAP. Lather your head up and shave it. It isn’t complicated and the more you do it, the faster and better you will get at it. I am pretty sure I can shave my head in under 2min even though I’ve never timed it.

I understand the soap part and im decently fast at shaving my head. I was talking about the rubbing alcohol burning the shit out of your freshly shaved dome.

Ever take a shot of whiskey? it burns. Ever get used to drinking whiskey on the rocks? You get used to it, and it doesn’t burn anymore.
