I’m a 5’8 120lb female, 18%BF, 32YO. Since I started training at 18, I have always had strong legs and a weak, skinny upper body. I am on day 11 of an Anavar cycle (1st time with AAS), just went up from 5 to 10mg ED. Since beginning the cycle, I have gained some strength and size all over, my legs and butt are particularly pumped.
For the past 7 wks, I have been doing German Volume Training, pretty much as written in this article, substituting what I consider to be a more effective excersise here and there:
I was wondering if it might be an idea to back off on legs until my upper body catches up? I thought that on the days I would normally do legs, perhaps I could power walk 20min on a treadmil, with a nice steap incline, to maintain the “tone” of my legs and butt.
I am NOT being lazy or trying to get out of squats and deads, I just want a more balanced psysique, with a view to competing in figure.
Any sugestions?
Unless you’re doing a ridiculous amount of volume in terms of training as it is, I would just recommend to keep up the back and leg work (the back is the upper body, btw), and just up the intensity and volume of your upper body.
Also, there’s no such thing as “toning”, at least in my book. Toning comes from lower body fat %.
Show me exactly what you do for your workout schedule.
Absolutely - for a female, the difference is startling, i am sure you can back off the legs for a while indeed…
I would be interested in you stuck around, let us know your progress… we dont have enough females here.
How long do you intend to run the var, and what are your goals?
I would like to also add, that on the day you normally do legs - while the walking is fine, it may be an idea to do a little EXTRA upperbody work - to specialise it. Maybe you could do just 1/4 of the normal work on legs… say 2-3 sets of lunges, or single leg squats to keep the size and shape but allow the extra work to really go to the rest.
Also an idea - i saw your split is Chest+Back - Legs+Abs - Delts+arms
…well, if you moved back to day 2, then you could really focus on those BP’s (of if ARMS are your biggest weakness - then move them to their own day)
Thanks for the advice. I put the word “tone” in inverted commas becasuse I don’t like it eithere. What I meant was I want to maintain the size and shape of my legs.
With the Var, I took 5mg ED for 10 days, now I am increasing it to 10mg for 20 days. Depending on how I respond, I may further increase the dose to 15mg for another 20 days. If I decide to go higher and for longer, I would need to order some more.
My goals are to increase muscle mass and strength, while reducing my BF to 15%. I understand that Var is not the best choice for mass. If I get leaner and stronger (particularly upper body) I will be happy.
After that, I may consider a primo/clen mass cycle. I plan to enter my 1st figure contest in approx 1 year’s time.
I am currently studying to be a personal trainer and while I may be the leanest woman in my class, I am also the weakest. That shits me! I don’t want to be struggling with a 20Kg bench press! I feel that getting stronger will definitely make me more competitive as a PT. I want to be able to work with all fitness levels, not just overweight women who think they want to be skinny like me. NO! NO YOU DONT!!!
good to see a girl on here for once… anyway primo/clen i dont think would be the best for mass. For your next cycle i would run the var+primo. save the clen and or t3 for precontest. really dont know much else about female aas use. maybe try eq at some point. that might help but there are probably more knowledgeable people on here about female aas use. Dont worry about how much u can lift. strongest does not = the best especially in figure. Just focus on quality mass, and good lines and then NAIL your conditioning and you should do well. In a majority of figure shows i have seen despite the mass the most shredded girls place higher then the softer ones most of the time.
I am a PT and i plan to do my first show in approx. 1 year. Good luck!
I also know that equipoise can be used at around 50mg/wk and Deca also at the same dosage… I will look into it also.
Both will cause more virilization than Primo though (Primo inj. or oral? Inj. leads to greater gains apparently, i havent used the oral though)
While Var isnt the BEST choice for mass for a guy - it aint like Test is gonna do! I think it may do ok with you, not AMAZING, but well… and it should help strength increase a good amount.
What sort of dosage of primo are you considering, and what other AAS/drugs are you considering? T3 maybe? 5-10mg winstrol is considered good for women too.
Also seeing as you are into fitness&figure… i take it you are not willing to sacrifice any virilization for mass?
Please for the love of little baby jesus dont fuck yourself up with virilization sides. please pretty please. unless its worth it to you based on your goals then dosent matter what i think. but please dont. Small dosages of HGH with little to no aas i have read is what a majority of pro figure girls take but thats pretty much all hearsay. maybe like 2ius a day or EOD for 6mon-1year + var on and off.
Also dont stop training legs. If anything do light detail work focusing on ham development and outer quad sweep. Maybe for a period of a month or two just do bodyweight walking lunges at a high volume 1-2x a week,Calves 2-3x week, light dead lifts or stiff-leg deads 1-2x week. Of course this is based off of NPC figure competitors i have seen and their overall weaknesses. If u were to post some pics we could probably help u more.
I think you should be patient regarding your dosage with var. I know people say its relatively mild that even females can take it. But the results take time to show. Roughly around 2 - 3 weeks. So keep your current dose gage your response. I see your on day 12. Just stick with it a little longer.
I am sure I don’t have to tell you about sides. I would hate to see a vixen turn into a she-man.

Oh haha, my bad! I love squatting personally because it makes my ass bigger. No joke. Women like a muscular male ass, especially the wife.
A well-formed booty is a thing of beauty, no matter where you find it -just my opinion of course!
A friend of mine is a solid 7’ 250lb bodyguard. On his 1st assignment to the States, he was at a party and found himself in the middle of a crowded dancefloor, sandwhiched between 2 hot black babes and their beautiful big, round, firm butts. He totally creamed himself.
I love what squats and deads have done for my butt too and so does my boyfriend. He would kick my butt out if he ever found out about the roids, but he won’t the way I’ve organised things.
I’m a bit shy about posting pics on here. Too many beautiful people. I was, however just looking at a digi pic I took opf myself, before starting the cycle. My legs don’t look quite as disproportionate as what I thought. I have a wide shoulder girdle and a fair size bust, so I’ll never be pear shaped (thank god for that!)Once I’ve lost the BF (and us gals tend to store it down below), THEN I will decide whether there is an imbalance worth worrying about.

According to several S and C coaches,
Upper Body - Men gain faster
Lower Body- Women and Men same growth potential.
Nothing out of the ordinary, its quite natural for your lower body to appear more “worked out” than your upper body
Exactly what is it you want to achieve… besides a firm butt that is …
If thats all you want, i advise you to start doing Bulgarian Squats… YouTube it or enter it in the search function… start at Bodyweight try get too 100 then start holding some Dumbells.
Believe me you will have “issues” sitting down the next day.
Also, in the non creepiest way like some of these guys are exhibiting…
Without pictures i can’t tell you if its you over reacting or if there really is an imbalance… even if you want to put up one side, one back one front or pm them to me
