Unable to Get Good Sleep, Noisy Roommates

I never said it was perfect advice, just the best I had to offer. As a superintendent I see plenty of these guys bullshit there way through an interview to get a job. And your right many quit the first day, my personal best was 27 min. The guy literally left his supplies, hard hat, and safety glasses on the floor and walked out the building with only saying “this ain’t for me” to the duct foreman he was working under on his way by. However I have seen these types of kids get into the right crew and get there shit together to be decent dudes, it’s not everyday but it happens.

I have a client with…let’s call it generationally poor work ethic…whose son got a new job in construction that paid very well, but who slept poorly toward the end of his first week, and so called in and said so, and that he wouldn’t be in. To the shock and dismay of everyone but me, those cold-hearted bastards told him not to bother coming back once he was rested.

Yes, you did. Thank goodness the guy who managed to blame his parents’ sex life for his muscle loss and unemployment is on the lookout for posts that might not be up to the level of quality the forum expects.

This cracked me up, but honestly - I wish more people were like that in my trade, instead of sticking around and taking everyone’s time to train them and explain things 328492378423 times and THEN walking out 3 months later.

Currency conversion rates make $20 AUS worth around $10 USD. In New York, minimum wage is $15/hr.

Damn, when I lived in NYC, I worked a hard airport job for $11, now I’m in Oregon seeing signs for Burgerville paying $15 an hour

In Pennsylvania, when I was wrapping up grad school, there was an employer who had the nerve to offer $15 an hour for their internship.

When I was outside of Williston ND, they had $500 signing bonuses and starting $15 an hour to work at Taco Johns. I about got a third job.

And apparently strippers were taking in a grand a night.

Which explains where my second job came from.

Tacos by day, “tacos” by night.

Maybe I’ve just missed you saying it but you were in Williston? I knew ND but I didn’t know where.

That sucks . I mean, it’s not horrible, but there’s nothing there.

Nah, not in there, just near it. But I was still by a whole lot of nothing.

Currently, I work for $10/hour (I’m NYC based, this is less than minimum wage) doing off-the-books work that isn’t worth the wage I’m being paid because I need the money. I also work another job that pays $30-60 an hour depending on available work, go to school, and take care of family responsibilities. Guess I’m an adult

I honestly don’t know how you do all of that

I’m currently working as a ra for 2 professors and get paid 10/hr for each- the problem is that the work is quite sporadic

I also have an unpaid internship with a startup, but that’s more for fun

I don’t need these jobs to support myself, I guess I’m not an adult yet???

I know people in their late 40’s and early 50’s that aren’t adults yet.

actually it’s 15usd (1.5 USD to 1 AUD)

Though with the current state of our economy it will probably be 20=10 lol

Actually it’s 1 USD to 1.5 AUD

Luckily, I’m not in my late 40s but still:
