Types of Protein

There are different sources of protein: casein, whey, isolate, etc.

But does the FDA or anyone else break protein down into types like fats(trans, saturated, monounsaturated, polyunstaturated) and carbs(sugars, fiber, “starches”)?

Or am I missing a larger concept where the source is the type of protein?

Well, different types of protein have different ratios between the amino acids which make up the protein, and most supplements list a breakdown of individual amino acid content…

Or are you looking for some other type of breakdown?

That sounds like a pretty decent breakdown–I’ve never seen that before, though.

Bodybuilding.com has some great articles on the diffrent 'types" and processing of protein. Ex. Whey vs caesin vs soy. Ion exchanged vs microfiltered. Very interesting article if you want info on the subject.
