I take a Turmeric supplement to reduce inflammation, but I’ve noticed on my dailies protocol noticeable to severe body aching/joint pain. Does Turmeric block estrogen? Thinking I was bordering low on my protocol and the supplement made me crash.
I also take Ashwagandha to reduce anxiety, not sure if it also might also block E2.
Will reduce how frequently I take these supplements, need my estrogen.
Update: Stopped these supplements for a few days now and still feeling body aching/joint pain. I box regularly and punching anything with gloves noticeably hurt, not normal. Thinking I need more Testosterone to aromatize to estrogen.
It’s been reported both ways. I take a lot of turmeric and my E2 runs high. If it does reduce E2, I doubt it would be enough to be symptomatic.
Only thing I can think to lower my E2 as I don’t take an AI or even take DIM anymore. Maybe I inject too little T. However, thus far have not noticed low e2 sides when I skipped my turmeric or ashwagandha for the day.
Any lab results available?
Not since going on dailies, but here are my lab results of 3-4 weeks ago while consuming the same total T Cyp for the week on biweekly injections:
Testosterone, Serum 834 ng/dL
Free Testosterone(Direct) 19.2 pg/mL
Estradiol, Sensitive 44.9 H pg/mL
Sex Horm Binding Glob, Serum 33.6 nmol/L
TSH 3.390 uIU/mL
T4,Free(Direct) 1.71 ng/dL
Triiodothyronine (T3), Free 4.0 pg/mL
DHEA-Sulfate 276.8 ug/dL
Those look pretty good. E2 is fine.
What are the ranges for FT4 and FT3?
Your TSH value is really shitty.
Recent labs:
T4 is 1.71 ng/dL. 0.82-1.77
Triiodothyronine (T3), Free 4.0 pg/mL. 2.0-4.4
TSH 3.390 uIU/mL. 0.450-4.500
A few months ago:
TSH 2.070 uIU/mL. 0.450-4.500
Reverse T3, Serum 21.3 ng/dL. 9.2-24.1
Triiodothyronine (T3), Free 3.6 pg/mL. 2.0-4.4
Are you on thyroid medication?
Your problem is 100% due to having such a high RT3.
Your FT3 is absolutely perfect so you might not actually need thyroid medication as long as you can get down the high RT3.
The question is why you have such a high RT3.
Oh wait, I see now that you are suffering from inflammation (is it chronic)?
Chronic inflammation can cause very high RT3, do you know why you have inflammation?
It could also be due to iron or cortisol problems, do you have iron tests or saliva cortisol tests?
My TSH was actually 1.75 pre-TRT and at one point post TRT it showed as 2.07, but usually it’s above 3.0.
I don’t think so, I only take Turmeric to keep potential acne to zero. I don’t get any on my face, but sometimes on my back since starting TRT.
I don’t believe I have iron problems, have not checked cortisol though.
You should do a full iron panel, ferritin can for example show if you have high inflammation.
You should also test for hs-CRP.
Do you have any other previous RT3 tests?
OK, will check these checked in my next blood panel. And no, I only checked RT3 once, will check again too.
Actually, it looks more like you have subclinical hyperthyroidism
“The other autoimmune problem that alters thyroid function is the production of antibodies directed at the TSH receptor on thyroid follicular cells. Often, these antibodies stimulate the thyroid cells as effectively as TSH, resulting in an increase in both T4 and T3 secretion. However, as T4 and T3 levels rise and TSH production is shut down by negative feedback, production of antibodies continues unabated, resulting in sustained elevation of T4 and T3 and, eventually, many of the classic symptoms of hyperthyroidism.”
You need to test your anti-bodies to see if you possibly have Grave’s disease. If that is the case, then I would recommend you go to the doctor to get it checked ASAP.
I am not an expert of hyperthyroidism, so if I am wrong, then please, let me know.
@marcus007
Stay with getting your TRT in check before f-ing with thyroid. When you are ready to start messing with thyroid remember that this is a testosterone forum and no one really has any clue about thyroid (with the exception of 2 folks whom are easy to find because what they say is backed up with facts). TRT can sometimes raise TSH for periods. Nothing about your thyroid screams serious issues that must be fixed this instant.
On another note, I just switched ashwagandha brands from one on Amazon to Nootropics Depot ksm-66. I was taking 1200mg of the previous brand and now take 600mg of the Nootropics Depot version. Holy crap it’s like a different stuff altogether! I was having serious over-active adrenals and for the three weeks I’ve taken it I feel like a new man. I would highly recommend it.
How do you explain his TSH becoming lower, while his FT4 and FT3 has increased to even higher levels if it is not due to hyperthyroidism?
@kratom_dumper
I wouldn’t but if I attempted to I would make damn sure I knew what I was talking about. I think you should chill on the thyroid shit.
@dextermorgan ha don’t worry bro, will not disappoint. And cool, will check out the Ash. My brand is 2100mg… don’t think I notice it working tho.
What the fuck is your problem dude?
This guy shows early signs of possibly developing hyperthyroidism (did you even read the quote I had on that post?) Which is most commonly caused by a progressive autoimmune disorder (Grave’s).
I then told him to test for antibodies to see if he has Grave’s and that he should then meet with a doctor to find a way to fix this.
But I guess in your mind that getting the optimal TRT doses is so much more important than quickly finding out if he has an autoimmune disorder or not.
You said before that his thyroid labs have nothing to worry about but you can’t explain why his recents labworks all progressed in the exact same way hyperthyroidism (did you read the quote once again?) normally.progresses so maybe it is you that should just shut the fuck up when it comes to talking about thyroid issues.
