Ok, finally manning up and starting a training log. I had some photos done today and wasn’t happy with what I saw, which means I need to train harder and eat harder and absolutely no slacking. CT does my programs and so I can’t post exactly what I do or eat but I’m going to post how every workout went, including missed workouts and exercises. This should mean I update six days a week.
I was recently as sick as a dog and lost a lot of weight, hopefully that should bounce back pretty quickly. Just waiting for my new program from CT to get back into it, not totally 100% just yet but itching to really hit the gym properly again.
I’ve been working out, but for various reasons haven’t been keeping up my log. No excuses.
I’m now on a four day workout, writing this right after my workout at 2am (hell of a day)
I starting working out in my Ghetto Gym, just a bench and bars and a single cable for pulldowns and what have you. I haven’t worked out there in a while but went back in today.
I had a really great workout. I’ve felt down recently about not making enough progress, and it was good to compare my performance. My bench has gone up by 12.5 kgs, and that’s over 9 sets where the previous was over 5. Also did a fly combination which killed me, but my chest was so fatigued by the end that I couldn’t do much in the way of post failure.
I give myself 6/10 for my eating today. Not good enough, even nearly, but I’ve kept calories and protein up and ate a good breakfast. I’m going to bang down a shake before bed.
here’s a weird detail, when I was benching today I was pushing so hard, driving with my heels and keeping my abs tight and such, that I started to get a really “bloody” feeling headache. Also that nose bleed feeling you get after being punched right on the button. I still seem to be alive though, and I didn’t drop the weight on my head. This happen to anyone else?
my leg workout wasn’t the best, I’m having trouble getting to grips with snatch deadlifts. I also need to be more focused, my workouts are taking too long.
Shoulders and arms day kicked ass, but I had to split it into two workouts as I got an emergency call halfway through my workout. I finished up the only exercise I couldn’t do at home and went and dealt with the problem, then finished up at my home gym. Had a really good time, love doing push presses.
Had a great chest and back day, my bench is finally coming up again and my lats are showing improvement.
My chest is a huge weak point. It just won’t grow. I’m not sure if I have gyno or what, but my chest is just terrible. Conversely, my arms have made a lot of progress. I think this is a sign that I’m overusing my triceps in my bench.
on the morning of my deadlift workout, I got out of bed without realising that my left leg was asleep. It promptly folded out from under me and I bambied right into the floor. my knee is killing me, but it’ll recover. I didn’t deadlift or lunge that day, better to be safe than sorry. I love deadlifting and I’m sure it’ll be fine by my next deadlift day.
my previously stated focus problems were a lot better in the gym on monday, I got my workout done quicker and felt better all the way through.
Pretty good shoulders and arms day today, with one caveat. While I was doing shrugs, I went on my toes to get the bar back on the rack (my gym has no power rack so I use the supports on the squat rack) and my left calf exploded. The pain calmed down very quickly and I was able to put weight on it after a minute or two, but it’s still sore and I can’t squat on it (even just bodyweight). Here’s a good thing about this log, I can see above that it’s the same leg that I bambied on the other day. Maybe a coincidence or maybe I need to watch that leg.
