TT , JB and PRAL Values?

Hey, guys!

Tampa Terry listed a link once (that she made JB aware of) that listed the PRAL values (“acid producing” values, for simplicity) of foods.

Anyone remember the Link? (It was a more comprehensive list than the one in his article).

Thanks!

Mufasa

Mafusa,

There is another view on acid-base that you should be aware of (if you are not already). According to this…school of thought (called metabolic typing) the same food (or supplement) can make one person more acid, and other more alkaline.

There was a thread on this ages ago but the search engine returns errors when I tried to find it.

Info on this can be found at:

www.bloodph.com and
www.healthexcel.com/
Mercola also talks about and believes in this.

I’ve known several people who’s health has improved dramatically following this system, but for others it did not seem to make much difference.

Scott:

It’s funny you brought that up!

I JUST ordered Mercola’s book! (“Total Health Cookbook and Plan…”).I should be getting it from “Amazon” any day now…

I’m a person pretty open to new ideas (I LOVE to learn…)…but I also keep a VERY critical eye open for either:

a) BS or

b)minutia and/or “Nutritional Witch Hunts” where the author is either scaring people with minutia or trying to hide an underlying agenda.

I’m looking forward to reading his book!

Mufasa

Mufasa, it’s not as comprehensive as I’d like, but the site you were asking about is Säure-Basen-Forum - Säure-Basen-Forum.

JB replied to someone on the forum who was asking for a PRAL number for an item not listed that foods of similar types have similar PRAL scores. So if you’re looking for the number of something that’s not on the list, just use the number for whatever looks closest.

Thanks, Tampa!

That was the link!

Mufasa

Mafusa,

I’m not sure if Mercola’s book has any info on metabolic typing. You might try bloodph.com or one of the other sites.

Scott

Mafusa,

Here is a thread from 1991 where Kelly baggett discusses metabolic typing in more detail:
