Universally well known rock stars are going to be known by anyone…but Led Zeppelin isn’t that. I have heard the name my whole life but couldn’t tell you one specific song.
I consider “universal rock groups” to be guys like Rolling Stones.
I can listen to anything if I get the vibe of it and can relate to it. I’ve listened to at least a few country songs in my life that I did really like…some of which were then redone by r&b/pop stars to great success.
Anyone who writes off entire genres as “trash” is pretty ignorant.
I could care less how fat Adele is. She can fucking sing and her songs aren’t emotionless carbon copy pop ring tones.
eh, I don’t think she needed to get that fat in order to sing that well. In fact, I know a lot of singers who are just as good, who keep their weight much closer to their touring weight during the off-season and who sound just as good.
I’ve always tended to be of the belief a person’s musical tastes dont really change THAT much over time, more their AWARENESS of different artists/genres & the reasons why they do & don’t like certain stuff broadens & ever so slightly nuances.
Play her some classical, hair metal, 60’s pop, rave, rap, powerballads, jazz, trance, motown, rock, bubblegum, folk, metal etc.
At least if you expose her to a broad enough spectrum music, the odds of you not finding something you both like is going to be pretty slim.

Led zep are not a universally known rock band? wow. Its hard to even add to that. led zep are by far the greatest rock band of all time. Not many people can debate on that. you never heard of “stairway to heaven” thats considered to be in the top 3 greatest rock songs of all time. Led zep had one of the greatest guitarists of all time, jimi page. THE greatest drummer of all time, John Bonham. and just about the greatest rock singer of all time, robert plant.
The rolling stones are still around today, thats probably why you heard of them. But please, they don’t even compare to led zep. not even close.

RV has spoken, from this day forward “Led Zep” is the greatest rock band of all time. Never to be debated again…until RV contradicts himself in the next 5 posts then we’ll see where Led Zep ranks after that.
can we get a .gif of rv playing rock band or guitar hero?

You did…

Its just pure insanity that todays kids probably have never even heard of led zeppelin…
black people tend not to know these bands.I remember years ago, i was wearing a led zep tee shirt. And these black kids had never even heard of them. They dont’ exactly play that kinda music, in the hood.
Led Zeppelin is seriously overrated.
Here are some other overrated acts: Bruce Springsteen. U2. Rolling Stones. The Beatles. Nirvana.
Not Overrated: Bob Dylan. Metallica. AC DC. Guns N Roses. Pearl Jam.
Have fun with these lists :)
personally, metallica has always been my favorite band. But to say that led zep is completely wrong. How can you deny the talent in that band and the songs they have made.

LOl @ “wow”. I doubt most kids under 18 have even heard of them and I doubt most people under the age of 35 consider them the best rock band of all time. Their SONGS may be familiar to some people, but I am guessing far fewer would actually know who was singing them.

If you say so.

Challenge accepted.
Most people would label The Beatles as “the best ever” even though I would say they are insanely overrated.
This is subjective nonsense unless based on album sales. According to those, the Beatles win. Led Zep would come after.
The Beatles Total available certified units: 248.8 million

Looks like you’re wrong, Bib Poppa.
Oh…and trust me…I was a’scared the whole time of you.

I think being super fat somehow causes soul singers to live longer lives.
I mean, look at Aretha Franklin. She’s still stuffing down cream filling by the truck load and still singing tough. The same goes for Patti Labelle.
The skinny ones like Whitney and even Amy Winehouse burn out quickly. Both would clearly have lasted much longer if their drug of choice was cheese-filled crust and Twinkies.
Adele will clearly live long and prosper all because she keeps buffets in business while she keeps farting out the hits.
