What about stuff like bread and rice? I flat out don’t eat stuff like this right now and havent in months. I want to gain muscle but with little to no fat as well. Should I keep these out of my diet or introduce stuff like this as well?

If you want to gain muscle, you’ll need some calories from carbs. You can eat brown rice and whole wheat breads. Stay away from the white stuff.

If you want to take it a step further, have your carbs before say 2pm, and fat/protein meals after 2pm.[/quote]

I’m confused now. You are eating under maintenance, but are looking to add muscle?

You sound like a perfect candidate for the AD. Go have a look at the monster thread. From a DiscHoss post way back in the beginning:

Caloric deficit = weight you lose (fat and muscle)
Macro intake = WHAT you lose (fat or muscle)

No after I get as lean as i can im going to start trying to gain some size. I wanted to get as lean as i could so that when i start eatin ill be able to keep my ideal physique year round and gain minimal fat.

I wanted to ask now so i can be ready to do it the proper way and not have to make another thread in a month

i read that you can get all the benefits of red wine from other sources of fruit and other ‘healthier’ alternatives. but apparently the alcohol acts as a catilyst(however you spell that)
for the absorption and distribution of the good elements.

anyone heard any of this? (i dont like alcohol so im not just trying to rationalise a bottle of wine a night)

and i disbelieve everything i hear, but if anyone has a link to studies on this?

Where do you see non fiber carbs there? The almonds have 6 grams per serving, not sure about the walnuts but they cant be higher then that. When i say veggies i mean all green veggies (spinach, broccoli, grean beans etc)

You need to use an online food log or to look at your food’s labels. Nuts and vegetables usually have half regular carbs and half fiber.

Definitely look into the Anabolic Diet. I’m doing something like that with a cheat day once a week. You eat under maintenance yet you can actually burn more fat than a standard low-calorie diet AND gain muscle. And those aren’t even beginners’ gains. I need to buy the Anabolic Solution e-book, I’ll need to stop dieting eventually and I’d like to continue doing carb cycling but have mass gain as my new goal.

It depends on what benefits of red wine you are considering. The heart-attack and blood-pressure lowering studies were done in humans, but were mostly French so if you want to get into them you??ll have to read articles about them, or translations, in medical journals. But there are no legitimate studies about the effects of Resveratrol in humans, so it seems unlikely that there are studies comparing its effects to chemicals in fruits.

The best bet for finding out your true bf% is prbly calipers, but since you dont have those, judging from your pictures I would say your already under 10%.

This, however, is no guarantee. Its simply a judgement at a glance- your best bet is always calipers or underwater weighing.

Can anyone give me direction to info on the Anabolic diet? If this is something you can do for a month or less perhaps I will give it a go. Come January 28th no more dieting. I’ve come a long way from a flabby 220 pounds to what I am now. Its time to get hiyooooge.

Since I started going low carb I’ve noticed even more fat loss. Someone told me I may even been at 9% now. Regardless after January its time to eat again. Today being Christmas and all it is a free day for me. I’ve already had a beer and a few pieces of pizza.

Anyone have any advice/articles on the best way to gain mass without least amount of fat?

Just posted an updated pick in my profile. Newest. is the caption. A few people have told me I’m probably in single digit body fat now.

I cant make an accurate guess myself so I have no idea. Am I lean enough to start gaining some mass while lookin’ good the during the process?

I’d say judging from your newest pic its time to gain some mass, your pretty lean.
Just stick to a clean diet, up the calories.
Do something along the lines of Crewpierce’s diet in the Physique Clinics.

Do a search on “Anabolic Diet” here. The idea came from a book/ebook called “The Anabolic Solution”, google that. Dave Barr did an article called “Frontline Fat Loss” that outlined a version of the A.D. that is easier to break into.

I’m going to look into that.

God I hate the holidays from a training stand point. Christmas day was my free day, so I ate all the stuff I havent eaten in months and months. Cookies, fatty ham, fugde, all that shit. Today I woke up looked at myself and actually can see the damage done in one friggen day. Unbelievable. Needless to say I jumped right back on my diet.

I will not be going off again for new years. That includes no drinking. It’s just not worth losing all the hard work.

Here is an update on what I’ve been eating. Please critique my diet.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Eating too much too little? I’m eating anywhere from 1700 to 1900 calories a day. No HOT-ROX right now as I don’t have excess to a gym untill the second so I lift weights when I can and do pushup/1 leg squat work outs at home when I can’t.

Will finish bottle of HOT-ROX come the second.

Thanks guys.

Your current diet looks good. Look into fiber supplements or get ground flaxseed and throw it in your shakes as long as it’s not post-workout.

Free days take getting used to. You need stop refeeding when you start feeling bloated or can see yourself smoothing out. One day definitely isn’t enough to erase weeks of dieting, even if you did the see-food thing.
