Trump: The Third Year

No doubt. 100yr bonds going to 1% yield is madness, and I can almost guarantee ECB insanity soon. All that said?

CCP delenda est.

Bullshit. You’re just waiting until we’re weak so you can take back what’s “yours.”

I see right through your master plan sir. And I have two muskets ready should I hear the British are coming. You best be prepared to face a shell every other minute!

As before, all that preparation is for nothing unless you call the French for help.

We’ll just promise them all the freedom fries they can eat.

I must be dense.
Wasn’t your statement directed at collapsing China?

H Factor accused me of leading the yanks down the primrose path so that we could reclaim the colonies.

I was referring to your 4am post.
Well, you can take over, but you get the debt obligation along with the assets, just like all corporate mergers. Cough, don’t forget the promissory obligations of a lot of free stuff.:+1:

Ah, I gotcha.

That’s basically how we got Scotland.

We counter Her Majesty with what some call the second son of God. Your power is nullified by the tiny hand of Trump.

That’s why we’ve been courting Trump and Kim. Just in case the French stay neutral.

The French not having an opinion? I won’t believe it if I see it.

We have a President who has long had his products manufactured here telling other people not to do business here.

I guess the GOP now plans on telling businesses they don’t have freedom? And people think Dems are different from a little bit ago?

I hate playing the “if Obama said this” game, but had Obama said tried to “order” something to businesses and the WH advisors backed him up, many posters on this forum would have packed their gear and weapons and headed into the hills to start a guerilla war against Obama’s socialist stormtroopers.

Personally, I don’t think anyone should have the power to order others around(not that a tweet is a legal order)…but we Americans love our imperial Presidency. Looks like that shit has been used many times: International Emergency Economic Powers Act - Wikipedia

Yes, but that shit was used to sanction US property of specific individuals from rouge countries and limit trade with Iran.

I don’t think that it has the same effect as ordering all multi billion dollar companies to change their entire supply chains.

You may be correct. Of course, actually using the power and tweeting about it are two different things.

You beat me to it, @loppar.

It truly is another “If Obama had said it…” moment.

So what we have is Michael Scott (from The Office) as president.

I understand the “Can Trump legally do anything?” in forcing companies “back” to the U.S." argument. (Personally I don’t think so…but I have no idea…)

What’s being missed is that what the leader of the Free World says is enough to move markets.

And it has…in dramatic fashion.
