Irrelevant - point is, the shutdown is affecting security in air transportation and unduly increasing risks in that area because ATC is being negatively,impacted. You agree with that, right?

Having met several TSA employees I’ll have to agree to disagree here. Finding more weapons doesn’t necessarily mean they’re doing a competent job. Especially when their baseline is a 95 percent failure rate. If you fail at something 95 percent of the time in any other field, everybody gets fired. Not just the boss, the entire company. Fucking weather forecasters do better.
As for ATC and safety. I want the shutdown to end because I think it’s retarded. Then I want both parties to go back to proposing (and sticking to) actual budgets that don’t add to the debt. Both parties should sacrifice some sacred cows to balance said budget. I’ll be over here, holding my breath.
This continuing resolution, debt ceiling nonsense every damn year is kabuki theater/manufactured drama.

I have always felt that the “smart” thing for WikiLeaks and the Trump campaign to do was to hack both the DNC AND RNC…and at least put up the facade that Trump was hacked too…to not make it all look so freakin’ obvious.
They could have even leaked flattering things about Trump…as long as they could say they were also hacked…
Pride and Power…always has been a terrible mix…
I suspect that declaring a National Emergency over the wall has moved from a maybe to a yes, because of this. Trump will need a competing headline in the news.

Why? He can go on Fox anytime he wants and probably reached more people by 8AM on Twitter today than he ever would through a SOTU speech.

Why would that matter? Grandstanding to the people who are already voting for you doesn’t come anywhere near the value of being able to reach all media sources unfiltered.
Obviously I don’t have data to back this up, but I’m guessing the number of swing voters he reaches definitely aren’t the same.

Every media source reports on every tweet he makes… Every time I open anything, yahoo, msn, cnn, facebook, whatever it’s “Trump did this, Trump said that”.

The fact that Trump himself is delaying his SOTU and explicitly said no venue could possibly measure up to the house chamber says volumes.
