YT didn’t even register in the Nielsen recap for last year:

This is all I see on YT
That’s, what, 3.5M views.

This.
The average kid/young adult “streams” now.
While viewership of “traditional” TV is still high…it is slowly but surely eroding.
That’s not what the data shows from the 2018 speech.
Libertarians hardest hit.
Government dysfunction causes licensed government workers to miss work… this is libertarians’ fault now?
“Hardest hit” =/= “fault”. “Hardest hit” means, er, what it says: the person hardest hit, hurt the worst.
It was a snark in response to the looneytarian’s view (stated above by Nick) that we shouldn’t be upset about the government being shut down because there’s no harm being done (and it is actually a good thing), particularly in air transportation and its safety.
Yes. Being blamed for everything is just the price paid for wielding great political influence and power.
Nor would it. The Nielsen recap doesn’t cover internet views. I don’t believe it ever has
Livestream viewership doesn’t roll into subsequent recap videos. I believe this applies to all YT Livestream
Fwiw, I’m happy to agree he can just show up on Fox n Friends and get viewers. But you’re disagreeing with the big guy himself as well on how important it is that the SOTU is delivered from the house.
I don’t see any mention of libertarians in the article. Am I missing it?
I would expect it to be mentioned in the social media portion of the recap, but only FB, Instagram, and Twitter were.
I mean, the big guy is kind of an idiot…
I don’t believe YT falls into the same category as social media. Pretty sure it’s in the realm of Netflix/Hulu/etc. I could be wrong
In this case, it seems to be fairly universal how important it is that he deliver the SOTU from the house chamber. Even at face value, losing the potential viewership is massive.
Fox doesn’t outweigh every liberal outlet combined after all.
Clearly LaGuardia and Newark are hotbeds of AnCap activity. You can tell by their politics.
I’m not sure who the libertarians are that were hardest hit by the shutdown.
I’d guess the ones that work for the govt
If that was the point, it would be like me saying, “libertarians hit hardest by fatal car crashes,” and then posting an article about fatal car crashes without any mention of political views of victims.
Oh I have no idea if that was the point. I was just giving the super easy answer to your question.
Edit: if I had to guess, I’d say the article was about the hardest hit to looneytarian methodology, not the individual people
Re-posting from above. Happy to help.

EDIT: as in, your ideology and claims made from it take yet another hit from the real world.
I read that post, but how has it been determined that libertarians are hardest hit?
This brings us back to the question asked by @Basement_Gainz.
Additionally, it does nothing to harm libertarians anyway. You’re talking about an industry that is so intimately tied to government(at this time) that it’s nearly indistinguishable.
That’s hilariously cute. Claiming that government dysfunction proves that ATC should be run by government. When even the canadians don’t do it that way.
The sudden disruption to air travel due to government failure is proof that the free market couldn’t do a better job. That’s just bass backwards.
That’s like saying it’s a financial necessity to stock up on credit card debt. Because if everyone stopped using credit cards immediately in an unforseen manner the economy would tank.
This is actually accurate. The debt industry is arguably one of the largest and most important industries in human history. People suddenly not using credit cards would ripple out to every industry on the planet.
