Trump: The Third Year

Unfortunately, you live in a nation, not in a cave by yourself in some remote area. So it isn’t all about you. But if other people are such a burden, you can always look for that cave.

And in case you didn’t realize it, and your post says you don’t, the government may have shut down but services are still being provided. TSA is still checking your shoes.

It often stuns me how little your posts have to do with the post to which you responded.

You think? You mentioned airplanes falling from the skies as if the shutdown did away with big brother at the airport.

There are legitimate concerns about growing risks in air travel due to the shut down, which makes sense and is a real issue, assuming you’ve experienced life outside mom’s basement.

I don’t disagree, but now it’s about turf and leverage. No way Pelosi was going to voluntarily give Trump a platform to throw a tantrum over this standoff and berate legislators with a monopoly on the microphone. That would be a bad move. And again, not a fan of Pelosi, but the idea that a Speaker of the House had enough spine to say “no, I’m not giving you a pulpit to come barf all over Congress in what would be free advertising during this political turmoil instead of an actual SOTU, no, not in my House”…frankly, is refreshing.

Also, today’s action reflects a few things - Trump got embarrassed, as the vote on the bills tracked public sentiment: the vote to reopen government/keep working on the border got more votes than Trump’s to fund the wall now with some temporary concessions on DACA, etc. As such, it’s clear there’s no unity in the GOP caucus and Trump isn’t strong enough to deliver the votes on his side in any direction.

Trump’s in a corner of his own making - he tried hostage taking, and he shit the bed. Now, he has a fragemented GOP and he’s getting blamed in the polls.

Anyone remember when the sycophants were Trump-eting how the billionaire businessman was going to run the table on “the libs” because he was the 4D chess, master negotiator? Hilarious.

Latest thing I read was Trump was considering a clean Continuing Resolution for a brief time while a border deal was worked on. You mean the same solution that came out of the House no less than ten times that Trump could have accepted well before the shutdown and Trump’s plunge in the polls?

That would make sense only if the TSA wasn’t 100% incompetent when fully funded. They let people through with guns/knives every day.

Incompetent? Have you ever seen someone with a physique like these heroes’ that was incompetent at his job? I think not, Sir! Just look at the way they’re slowing that guy down!

To be fair, at a glance I wouldn’t peg that guy as a speed demon.

Our President has a physique worse than that but is the model of competency in all aspects of his job.

He doesn’t exercise because you have a limited amount of beats in your heart and you will die faster. I’m definitely not making it to 70 I played football, basketball, and track in high school and then college football. My coaches will be responsible for me not meeting my grandkids.

So how many paychecks would they have to miss for it to be considered indentured servitude? 2 months, 6 months, 1 year? How about 2 years? Where do you draw the line? With trump, all of this is possible and worst just because he wants a useless wall. If it was so important why didn’t he push it through when he controlled both houses of congress?

You blame Trump 100% for the shutdown? He was willing to hand a permanent DACA fix to the dems on a silver platter. 30 years ago they would have called that “amnesty”. He was willing to repeat Reagan’s mistake of amnesty today for border security tomorrow… Pelosi came out against a proposal of his hours before he shared it with them. He’s locked and loaded ready to shoot himself in the foot, Nancy just has to let him.

She’s calculated the angry govt workers hurts Trump 5% more than it hurts her. For the party if govt workers, unions and the “little people” (on paper anyway) that’s cold. Especially when Trump is handing you a win anyway.

While the pageant of “who is less competent” never stops being fun, anyone have opinions on Maduro and the US recognizing the opposition leader after the fraud election?

Russia, China and Turkey are standing behind Maduro… Is this a Gavrilo Princip/Archduke Franz Ferdinand moment? Is this going to be Trump’s Vietnam/Iraq?

Their physiques matter because?

Where did you come up with that 100% figure?

No, it would make sense because in addition to TSA - which isn’t incompetent - we have air traffic control: you know, those people in towers wearing headsets making sure planes don’t crash?

Because they’re hated “gummint” workers - no matter what helpful service they provide, the looneytarians will always hate them - and therefore critcize them - for the sole reason they are employed by a public agency.

TSA inspectors don’t need to be track athletes. There are other security resources at an airport to handle next level security threats.

Probably the same reason Trump is able to continue to disrespect the military, judges, et al.

Being a blatant asshole has become mainstream

Bout time ATC was privatized, like in lefty Canada. Would’ve thought Reagan would have done that after he fired them all.

Do I really need to pull the 500 stories where they failed to detect weapons? They regularly do so during inspections and when idiots forget they’re armed and board planes.
