I mean, he could be getting the US involved in pointless wars that cost trillions and kill millions for zero benefits.
Or he could be suspending habeas corpus and jailing journalists without parole.
I guess what I’m saying is, we’ve had worse.

If you like his policies, that’s one thing. Healthy disagreement, etc.
If you like the man, I think there is something wrong with you.
*Using You generally.
Then someone in an impeachment hearing mentions Barron’s name in trying to make a point (albeit poorly) about the name as a title…with no personal attacks on Barron whatsoever…and the Conservative world goes Bat-Shit crazy?
But let the POTUS directly deride a young girl with Asperger’s?
** crickets…***
Unbelievable.
Well that’s not for a lack of trying. The decision to send additional troops to Saudi Arabia coupled with the fact that the POTUS is a full on Saudi apologist for a domestic terror attack that killed US servicemen - war with Iran is very much on the cards if Trump wins in 2020.
And that is a damn scary thought, @loppar.
Read Trump’s comments on Saudi Arabia prior to his election. Even while campaigning in 2016 he was a harsh critic. Now he’s doing their bidding.
I just want to know if he recognizes him calling anyone out for an emotional control problem is hilarious.
I’d like to say he can’t sink any lower but I’ll be damned if our professional troll can’t rise up to that challenge.
Out-fucking-standing.
The calm before the cuckservative and fake news failing NYT storm.
Expecting voters who did not arrive at choosing Trump via rational thought to suddenly abandon him via rational thought is silly. I think people really overestimate the average American’s education, ability to think critically and emotional maturity. We didn’t become one of the fattest nations on Earth because we are all geniuses.
OH!
If I am not mistaken, @Aragorn…
One of the authors of the piece is none other than George T. Conway the III…husband of Kellyanne Conway?
Somebody ain’t gettin’ none for a while is my guess!
What substantiative differences are there in the new NAFTA vs the old NAFTA?
Did tariffs on China get lifted/postponed because China made appropriate, proportional concessions, or did the they get lifted because of American economic and political pressure?
What are the objective policy wins from this administration that non-partisan AMERICA has unquestionably benefitted from?
Therin lies his peril. Trump would be a shoe in for re-election were he less repellent, as it stands he’s 50/50.
I disagree. It’s who he is repellent to that defines him to his fans.
Very true.
Heard an interesting take recently. Trump did not kill the body politic of the USA. He merely stumbled upon the warm corpse and pulled the knife out. He’s the coroner, not the murderer.
Civility was gone before Trump. Politics did not stop at the waterline before Trump. The electorate had lost faith in establishment politics and in the media before Trump. Executive power has been unchecked and partisan impeachment toothless since before Trump.
He came along and said “this man is dead” and his opponents shout ‘murderer!’
I think the smug people on this thread are overlooking that the vast majority of people who voted for Trump saw him exactly as odious as he truly is and that’s why he got their vote.
A vote for Trump is a protest of the farce that we have a functioning healthy government and society.
I think that’s broadly correct. I can only speak from the U.K. perspective, but civility is gone. Mates of mine have been doxxed for being Tories and there are street protests as we speak.
The English speaking world has lost all civility and I think the financial crash has a large part of the responsibility for its collapse.
Agreed, as it happens.
The majority of those who voted for Trump did not see him as odious. That’s apologist revisionist nonsense. They see him as saying the things they wish they had the courage to say.
That’s why Trump is being compared to Jesus? Because they consider him odious?
This is a GOPer in congress BTW
Do you have absolutely anything to back this statement up? I’ll take an Infowars link to a GOP sponsored survey if you have it.
I am in agreement with just about everyone else on the thread…
I don’t think a Vote for Trump was nearly that admirable and “deep”…
People found a person who would give a middle finger to people they didn’t like (even though Trump was one of “them” most of his whole Life…and deep down, most likely still is)…and pressed the touch screen…
