The quotes may be real, but Bannon being honest? Doubt that,
Let me throw this out for you guys to comment on: (and it’s serious):
Could Trump and Bannon be playing 4-D Chess with all this?
To be honest…I’m not sure what the “end-game” would be…but that’s the whole idea; staying 3 steps ahead of the opposition.
Bannon will have to then come out and make that distinction. I certainly don’t believe any politicians excuse when things like this come out, especially Trump who has been proven to have no ethics regarding honesty.
unless 4 d stands for dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb then no that is not what Trump is playing.
Yur bod is dope…unless its a avi and yur a dude then typo
Prediction… Pee tape, poop tweets, & Putin…the 3 Ps
The book is getting smacked around by all comers, and the fact this guy has a track record of being a huckster inclines me to scepticism. Combine that with the heavy use of that wannabe Svengali, Bannon, as a source and I am sitting deep in the well of doubt.
Here’s where I’m at.
Some of this is bound to be true, but the author’s rep and Bannon being heavily utilised as a source are inclining me to treat anything not backed up elsewhere with profound doubt.
Understood, but then you have people corroborating parts of it, such as the Janice Min tweet Loppar posted a bit ago.
And those I’ll accept. Other parts ‘Trump didn’t know John Boehner’ are flatly ridiculous.
The book doesn’t claim Trump doesn’t know Boehner; it claims that when Boehner’s name was mentioned to him on one occasion, he failed to recognize it. This possibility is not (IMO) flatly ridiculous.
He also could’ve said it sarcastically. But in light of other claims, like Trump repeating himself constantly, not recognizing old friends at Mar a Lago recently, etc., I think your theory is entirely plausible.
Agree to disagree. Trump has enough on the record spleen at the guy for me to not put it down to ignorance, at the very least.
This is where we need the Trump quote about him having the best memory, bigliest. Except when he doesn’t.
This is where trump’s inability to recognize the power of silence screws him. He should have said “Who? What book?” “K” and that’s it. Instead he makes it a best seller.
But, I think trump will come out ahead, again, in the end. People have not figured out that if you throw mud at mud, it doesn’t make a difference.
I’d like to clarify. My doubt isn’t built on a defence of Trump, more a doubt as to the quality of the author (debatable at best) and the quality of his prime source (a total scumbag that I have been consistent in my contempt of).
I am not saying that Trump is a paragon, merely that 2 hucksters together do not make a truth teller.
I think you misunderstood - Wolff didn’t report hearsay from Bannon, he had access to the White House and hang out there talking to pretty much everybody. And yes, Wolff is allegedly prone to exaggerations and falsehoods when they don’t fit his narrative.
Regardless of how you feel about Marijuana, that’s dumb. Why should Congress want to remove Jeff Sessions because he is willing to enforce the law made by Congress? Wouldn’t the more obvious solution be for Congress to change the law?
My guess is they are much more interested in getting rid of Sessions so it clears the path for Trump to fire Mueller; but this story makes for nice cover.
