I said this last time the travel ban failed: remember the entire purpose of the ban was to use that 90 days to establish an “extreme vetting” process. This was announced over five months ago, yet here we are…Trump still in a pissing match with the courts.
Maybe the ban is a test to see how a larger ban would work
Oh don’t you worry. Trump has plans for enhancing the vetting process. He listened to experts. The best experts. These guys are experts at so many things they’re like experts for experts. The only problem is he can’t do what these experts suggest until the ban takes place.

Maybe if he put that in his ban request instead of “Hurr durr ban the brown people from terrorist countries but leave out the countries that sponsored 9/11 hurr durr” he’d get better traction.
