Trump: The First Year

Could be. I just saw the headline, shook my head, and moved on.

No it’s not a sudden response - the article is from January of this year. Everyone, including US companies, sees where the wind is blowing (pun intended). And it’s not King Coal.

Oh, and far as the Paris debacle of wealth distribution as you call it, you do realize it’s voluntary?

This doesn’t seem like a list of rabid lefties intent on destroying Murica:

One of the few things in this cluster fuck of a thread worth discussing. It’s also, imo, the greatest challenge in the fight against radical Islam.

It isn’t true. I’ve already posted the numbers. Terror attacks are down against the US.

Edited: They are down against the US. I don’t know about globally.

Global data.

Walk back much or only when confronted with facts?

And I doubt there are many left with any misconceptions about the future use or value of coal. Its going to be tapered back and eventually phased out.

This.

I was in DC for the 2000 Inauguration with my two oldest children, 11 and 9 at the time
I was able to get passes and get them to the front of the standing viewing area so they could actually see the swearing in.

We encounter multiple groups of cursing, screaming college aged students yelling “Not my president” before and after the inauguration ceremony, to the point were I became concerned enough to leave before the parade started and took the kids back to the hotel.

Later, on the news, they “locally” covered the rioting, showing trashcans being thrown at the president’s motorcade. The mayor of DC, according to local news, requested help from the National Guard to maintain order.

None of that made the news in the NYC/NJ area. I asked my friends if they had seen the rioting on the news. The response was “What rioting?”

Who woulda thunk it?

A bunch of medieval rock knocking barbarians are beating us at the internet of things?

We make juicers now that you can’t even use without wifi, and they’re changing our political doctrine with youtube videos.

Nothing in that study disproves what I’ve said - there are more terrorists in America now than before the war on terror.

Your data is old from 2009

Fake News:

No, make that Very Fake News.

I highly doubt that considering the number of terror attacks is down. I doubt it even more if you control for population growth.

Feel free to link newer data. [quote=“SkyzykS, post:949, topic:229190”]

Obviously, it’s because Barron hasn’t been put in charge of US cyber security yet.

All numbers on fighting the war on terror should include the trail of bodies and costs to the tax payer.

Not only US soldiers but civilian casualties, the millions of people displaced, environmental costs etc.

Obviously, it’s because Barron hasn’t been put in charge of US cyber security yet.

Look at the link above, the US terror watch list has exploded. Also your information doesn’t factor in foiled terrorists plots. You are still a terrorist even if your plan fails

Remains one of my favorite election-season moments.

Of course, it’s exploded
9/11 was a game changer and the increase in the watch list is another example of government overreach. The fact remains that more terror attacks occurred prior to 9/11 than after. The data bears this out. You’re just making an assumption that there are more terrorists now than before.

2015 data:

Definitely, top 5 for sure.

Edited for clarity.

But how will we convince the masses to allow slippery slope slights to the Constitution like the Muslim ban if we tell them terrorist attacks are down? Those scary brown people aren’t going to ban themselves.

Wrap it in a flag and serve it up with some freedom fries.

Worked for the Patriot Act, right?

Unfortunately, very much so.

What are you talking about?

I’m talking about the historical trend in energy production versus your “John Oliver Said” / Because Trump based argument.

Sorry if the way that was assembled wasn’t very clear.

So you’re an engineer of some merit. This should be right up your ally.

How many acres of solar panel would it take to run a steel mill, say with an arc blast process for smelting? For the purposes of optimism, lets assume maximum yield and state of the art design.

edit: Now if we could put a number on that, how much would it cost, and how long would that take to pay for itself?

There are a whole stream of foiled terror attacks. This goes up to 2013 and there are 60
