Trump: The First Year

These are true, but they seemed to have a fairly specific definition of what they were looking for. And yes, at times they mis-characterized. I’m not attempting to defend him specifically, simply pointing out that most/the majority of scientists whose specialty is climate change (not astrophysics, not physics, not deep knee bending) agree that it is happening and that humans are having a negative impact on it.

Correct

Brief clarification. My stance is that the majority of his cabinet was not only involved in the public sector, but held govt positions. Not to say these are city council members, or some other such slack local school official type position

What is your ultimate takeaway?

That you wanted the US to remain in the Paris agreement?

Clapped

A son bragging about his father’s achievements and later taking credit for them is basically the Trump way. Hillary shoulda seen that coming.

Meant to post this here

I also saw some GOP Senator say it’s unlikely they’d get a health care bill done this year. It’s fucking June 2nd…

And if they don’t get healthcare through, there’s no way tax cuts are happening anywhere on the level as what he’s proposed.

C’mon man. They’ve only had ~7 years of control of Congress. These things take time.

Who knew HC could be so complicated?

Agreed what a stupid fucking bitch.

Watching her cry you can tell she’s acting

According to the Wikipedia, site that you posted, 10 of George HW Bush’s cabinet members did not hold elected office. That would be about half. The site that I posted to verify my point said about the same thing.

As I have said before while in exceptionally poor taste Griffin’s right of free speech covers her with this infraction.

It’s important to play the game and hold leftists to their own standards. Otherwise only people on the right will ever suffer consequences

I am trying hard to understand…but I am not understanding this distorted reality that Conservatives are finding themselves in.

Trump is… and will always say and do… whatever it takes to feed his gigantic, fragile ego.

Trump makes Trump moves…and believe me…conservatives have felt the heat of “The Trump Tweet” if they didn’t agree with him and/or if they were not bowing to his greatness.

Gorsuch? Neither a tough nor real controversial choice.

Lobbing 100 million plus Dollars of Tomahawks onto a Syrian Airbase that was used the next day? (WOW!)

Dismantling anything and everything in site by Executive Order while putting in more time criticizing the Legislative Process than he spends understanding it?

Fine, Zeb…but Trump lives in a “Conservative World” that I neither understand or recognize.

Following the elected office line of thinking.

Andrew Alexander - Gov of Tenn
James Baker - Reagan’s Sec of Treasury
William Barr - Public sector but never elected
Nicholas Bradley - NJ Repub Senator
Andrew Card - Private sector
Lauro Cavazos - Reagan’s Sec of Edu
Dick Cheney - Congress
Ed Derwinski - Congress
Elizabeth Dole - Reagan’s Sec of Trans
Lawrence Eagleburger - Public sector but never elected
Barbara Franklin - Public sector but never elected
Jack Kemp - Congress
Manuel Lujan Jr - Congress
Edward Rell Madigan - Congress
Lynn Morley Martin - Congress
Robert Mosbacher - Public sector but never elected
Samuel K. Skinner - US Attorney
Louis Wade Sullivan - Academia
Dick Thornburgh - US Attorney and other minor useless roles
James Watkins - Public sector but never elected
Clayton Yeutter - US Trade Representative

This makes 14 elected officials, 1 from academia, 1 from business, and 5 govt lifers but were never elected.

Even if we ignore the govt lifers, we’re looking at 2/3 elected officials.

I took a quick look at it and found the following to not have held elected office. Keep in mind I did not read every word of every bio as I still have a business to run…even on Friday.

Eagleburger, Franklin, Dole, Musbacher, Skinner, Sullivan, Watkins, Yeutter, Baker, Barr and Cavazos. Did not hold public office. That makes 11 which is about half.

So, yeah the site that I posted is pretty accurate.

It seems to me that appointing a conservative to the supreme court is…conservative. Military actions are usually considered more conservative at least they used to be before Trump did them. Both with MOAB’s and the Tomahawk missiles. And the latest conservative action pulling out of the Paris climate agreement well obviously that’s conservative. I noticed the far left losing their minds so I know I’m right. And every executive order that counteracts Obama’s especially in the area of less regulation and opening up the oil pipeline…both conservative.

Will he lower taxes as he has promised? I think he will and that is certainly conservative. As a rule republican Presidents lower taxes for all income groups and democrats always raise taxes on who they call the rich. The last democrat to actually lower taxes for all economic groups was JFK about 55 years ago (someone correct me if I missed someone).

So, yes so far I can say with confidence that he has governed as a conservative. Don’t confuse his quirky ways with his policies. He’s an odd duck to be sure. But so far he has governed as a conservative. Will that continue? Yes, I think it will with most things. This is Donald Trump so there might be a few odd things that he does policy wise that are not conservative. But overall he will toe the party line for the most part. And he has so far.

I covered all these guys above. Again, even if we ignore the govt lifers (5 of the non elected officials), we’re looking at 2/3 elected officials.

I mean shit the link you posted says HW Bush’s cabinet was 51% private sector, which isn’t a possible % given the 21 cabinet members.

That’s fine, Zeb.

You have a lot more confidence in Trump than I do.

God help us all when this man is done.
