Trump: The First Year

With the rise of things like reality tv and whatnot, the landscape has changed entirely.

Because the majority of Americans that consume media are left wing bias. The media industry isn’t immune to supply and demand.

Can you give Mark Cuban a call? I’d love to just have a beer with the guy (but if he wants to run with me that’s awesome too).

I always find it funny when Republicans - the party of the free market - whine about the products that the free market demands.

Your definition of modern and where one would need to start is telling. Why would you start at 1950 or any year when the majority of Americans weren’t alive?

Good lord I would assume most people would go with recent history instead of ancient history. But sure if a 25 year old walked into a bar and asked us which party was better on the economy we would say well let’s look at 1950

They benefit from being incendiary. I was just at a birthday party full of hard core Trump supporters and they knew every talking point that the left biased media was putting out.

When I pointed out that in the midst of the shitstorm he had actually negotiated a cease fire in western Syria (as unenforceable and tenuous as it may be) it was all blank stares and dropped jaws.

You meant Bush right? Just a typo I’m assuming. And yes Trump has not changed anything so it shouldn’t be news to you as you probably would have read about it if something had changed. But no the current Republican president hasn’t changed a program started by the last republican president

THANK YOU, pfury! (pfury for PRESIDENT!)

One of the outmoded concepts…probably for the last 10-15 years… that many are still living with…is the idea of “the” Media.

CBS, NBC and ABC are now just parts of an ever-expanding landscape of not only how and where people get their news…but how they spread their own beliefs and vitriol.

And my hell…FOX is crushing them all in the numbers!

It’s my opinion that people need to get over this idea of "the" MSLM as part of some broad conspiracy to keep the “silent” (right) majority down.

(“Silent” my ass…)

Nor did the democrat President that was in between the two republican Presidents.

I see…

Just trying to help you get your facts right. You didn’t think Trump was still using the NSA and then you thought the program was started under Obama so you had a lot of things wrong when thinking about the program. Glad we could help you so you know more now.

I do know more now and I am always grateful to learn new things. You see when people continually post thinking that they know everything that there is to know and never admit when they are wrong they tend to get arrogant and obnoxious. I never want to go down that road.

So thanks again.

You’re welcome. I think we have people here who are willing to help correct anyone who can’t get their facts straight.

Better man than I, dude.

I recently had a discussion with someone telling me about the movie Vaxxed (calling it a “must watch”) and decided that my true preferred response wasn’t worth ruining the Fourth of July party for everyone, so I smiled and nodded until they went away.

And sometimes we have people here who can never admit when their facts are not straight.

I don’t know who you are talking about honestly. We have regular posters in here who when shown facts that are the opposite of what was stated that they continue to deny it? Raj would be the only one who came to mind and he doesn’t post anymore. Regular posters I’m not sure.

I miss the days when a scandal amounted to dijon mustard and a tan suit.

That whole part of the family thinks I’m great with kids and have tons of energy because I’m usually kicking a soccer ball around with the little ones or playing chase with the dog.

Truth is I hear a couple of pieces of conversation and I’m like “Ok. Time to play tag with the dog!”

You know, zeb, in the spirit of getting the facts straight, I have something I need to get off my chest: in a previous tiff, I was, in fact, wrong when I said that you called a known conservative (usmc) a lefty pro-Clinton Democrat because he was critical of Trump. It wasn’t you, it was someone else that just sounded kinda like you:

Yeah we need to wipe out the whole if you don’t support Trump you must be a lefty idea. As if somehow being disgusted by him and what he’s doing means you were playing a bongo drum in NYC during the Occupy Wall Street rallies.

I have to give major kudos to the Republicans who have had the stones to oppose him the whole way through. People like George Will, Erick Ericson, I’m sure many others not coming to my head. These people said you know what we aren’t going to support Hilary but we aren’t going to support someone who is in such stark contrast to our principles simply because the Republicans decided this is who they want.

It’s not even tenuous. The Russians simply singled out an area where Assad was on the defensive and declared it a de-escalation zone.

Few days into the “ceasefire” the Iranians/Assad have regrouped and renewed their push to capture lost positions in the “ceasefire area” accompanied by airstrikes, something which is being announced matter-of-factly on the semi-official Hezbollah youtube channel (yes, they have a youtube channel).

C’mon man. What kinda hardcore Trumper doesn’t watch his twitter religiously. Sounds like they were B grade Trumpers.

I don’t agree so much–he is much more developed than Ron Paul and is not a stark AnCap. He’s conservative which would put him on your radar but I don’t think the characterization of him as adolescent is accurate.

Also, while I can see one’s point of view regarding the “public teat”, I place that in the same category as you not volunteering extra money in taxes each year. You’re on record as saying you wouldn’t mind paying more in taxes for the public good, but you didn’t volunteer those funds. In other words, I am not going to fault someone–either him or you–for taking legal recourse to keep more money on their pocket when it is allowed, or to take advantage of a program that the government is offering. Entitlements MUST be addressed, and you know it. While Ryan is probably more extreme in his solution than you or I would like he is one of very few actually attempting to do more than trot it out as campaign rhetoric.
