Trump: The First Year

Another often overlooked aspect is that Trump’s tweets show where his priorities lie. The media world is his comfort zone and he hates leaving it.

For all his “America First” policy, Trump isn’t really interested in measuring himself against other world leaders - his yardstick for success as President is besting “Crazy Joe Scarborough” and “Fake News CNN” not advancing global US interests.

In his little Trump/media world, the ultimate insult is accusing someone of having “low ratings” or being a “bad show”. Take that, ISIS.

International relations, even pressing domestic issues such as Obamacare repeal are ultimately boring for Trump. Repeal or replace, whatever…

American manufacturing was spoiled by being the “only game in town” post ww2. and I believe we have somewhat reverted to the mean.

I’m not anti competition. I just don’t understand how it makes sense to employ total war on your enemies (firebomb Dresdon, Hiroshima, Nagasaki) and then build them back up as your vassal states so they can one day be a thorn in your side again. It’s like rewarding their behaviour.

I imagine some argument could be made for the state of Germany during the Weimar republic giving rise to the Nazis. So we didn’t want to leave Germany in ruin again. But the whole world was hurting economically during the depression… it didn’t turn most other nations into expansionist homicidal maniacs.

Germany has accomplished an economic conquest of Europe they never could have maintained militarily in the EU, they run the continent.

Outstanding, loppar.

My feelings exactly.

I find it funny people think he’s not focused on his promises just after arguably the best week of his presidency.

CNN absolutely getting destroyed. if you haven’t noticed, the MSM is something that’s hurt the Republican party for decades and Trump is kicking the shit out of him.

In all fairness the Internet has really helped him.

It’s not like the standard was set high enough for that to be impressive.

Also nice to remember none of that comes close to what it would be if he did something with HC, did ANYTHING with the wall, or didn’t hand out other countries classified intel to the Russians.

Is this like how you said Megyn Kelly’s career is dead while she’s at a career high in pay?

In the puerile world of basement dwelling alt-right virgins you obviously “destroy” someone by posting a meme. Hence the CNN was “destroyed” in such a fashion by their idol.

Consequently, I’m expecting an anti-ISIS meme next.

Exactly why this is one of the worst way he could behave if his goal is MAGA. You want to make America great again? Fill her allies with trust while driving hard bargains. Don’t be all “Kanye West goes to Washington”

The project veritas videos are incredibly damaging to CNN’s credibility

Megyn Kelly is falling off a cliff. Her career is on the downswing as evidenced by her failing show

We know Pres. Trump understands the Face/Heel dynamic.

What are the chances he’s in collusion with CNN?

The concept of a strong leader is too subjective.

Some people here think the mediocre mulatto was a good example of a strong leader while others consider him the furthest thing from it.

Again compared to President Obamas first 100 days his lack of victories are striking. Obama had big legislative victories and a mid 60s approval rating in his first 100.

The midterms are lined up good for Republicans but they tend to grind legislation to a halt. The best times for Trump to achieve may have already passed. And if they have not he is spending time talking face lifts.

The big reason no one is talking about this great week you say he is having? Everyone in both parties talking shit on him because of his tweets

Which matters in what way to their profitability?

See above?

I’m asking your personal opinion, regardless of who is leading, about whether or not you believe a leader who is perceived as weak emboldens our enemies. Apply this to Obama/Trump/etc Idc.

Edit: Same question but a leader who is perceived as incompetent

Do you know what “fall off a cliff” means?

Edit : Megyn Kelly I mean

I understand what it means, I just don’t view her as falling off a cliff if she’s at all time high earnings for her career.

More importantly,

We need an investigation!

From external sources?

As I’ve said over, and over, and over again, raj…not a damn thing…

What does, or does not happen to Trump will be self-imposed…not the media…not CNN…not Mika Brysynzki…nothing nor anyone external…will stop this Train Wreck of a Presidency from barreling down the tracks. Where this all goes is ALL in Trump’s hands…

I think even many of his supporters (initial ones not current die hards) hoped he would be different when he won. I know I had a big hope that he would be different than the election. That he would search for common ground, stop with the childish tweets, and do the things that I enjoyed in him (I’m a fan of less foreign involvement militarily).

Those things didn’t happen and what you’re talking about won’t happen. Trump can’t change because we know what he is at this age in his life. Zero willpower

Posting about a woman’s surgery. Are you tired of all this winning yet?

Is the fact that the rinos and tea partiers (for lack of a better way to describe them) are diametrically opposed at many issues and thus nullify this supposed GOP mandate to push through legislation, ever going to be acknowledged by one of you Trump haters?

Can even one of you be honest enough to admit that? Damnation, get a life already.

Passing big legislation like health care is always difficult. The fact remains that the GOP has all the power they need to set the agenda.

Obama was criticized by the left for too small a stimulus package and for not driving harder at single payer. No party will ever have everyone wanting to do the same thing. Can Trump help bring these people together to accomplish big things through compromise? So far the answer has been no.
