Fair enough. Hard to argue with that.
And I mean, I don’t think there’s a need to delete any of your posts because I don’t think there’s an issue. What I saw was a quick overview of replies and posts in multiple threads over the years.
I’ll meet you halfway. If you flag the specific posts you want removed, I can delete them. I appreciate you trusting my judgment on what to remove or not, but you do need to put in some footwork on your own behalf.
Oh Ed…take off the partisan blinders. I know…I know… I am very partisan. But at least I see the politicians for who and what they are. For some reason you have not taken off your rose colored glasses regarding Obama. Take them off and have a real look around. He was as much a liar and a whore as the rest of them.
“shovel ready jobs” “you can keep your doctor” “I will close Guantanamo Bay” There must be at least 30 or 40 major whoppers. But as I said I don’t want to turn this into an Obama bashing post. And the Presidents before him also bent the truth to sell an idea or a mission of some sort.
Politicians lie GASP!
As I said in my previous post you have been around a long time I am sure you know these things. It’s time you admit it.
If I agreed, I’d be happy to say so. But I don’t.
Ya, it’s nuts. Many of the manufacturers, not just the parts, but the manufacturers that make F/A-18 parts no longer exist. The F/A-18 platform is in sorrrrrrrry shape. Lockheed better figure the fucking F35 out like yesterday.
I bet you’re real fuckin tired of PWI, lol…
I see, so you think that there are national politicians on both sides of the fence who are honest, hard working, never lie and are totally for the people? Is that what you are saying, or did I miss something?
I wouldn’t put it quite as Pollyanna-ish as “never lie” (is there an adult alive who has never lied?) or “totally for the people” (again, is there an adult who could meet a bar for selflessness set that high?). But I certainly don’t share your view that pols are uniformly self-centered sociopaths.
I never called them sociopaths. But, if you think that they are not going to lie to further their own cause then that surprises me. Obama did it repeatedly as did Bush W and his Dad HW who once said “read my lips no new taxes” and what did he do? He raised taxes. One tiny example, I gave you others.
I assume (and have been proven correct through the years) that anyone who rises to the level of the Presidency did not get there by telling the truth. And I can further assume that when they are there they will do whatever is in their best interests. I am not saying that this person will never do anything good. Many of them heave done great things. What I am saying is that you must expect lying, changing positions on issues and cow-towing to those who helped get him there.
So, don’t be surprised that Trump is golfing after he condemned Obama for doing the same thing. Just as Obama condemned Bush for the debt and then more than doubled it. And all the other lies…
Just accept it.
Not in so many words. But it’s essentially what you’re stating.
No, I don’t think I will.
fair enough maybe you see things that I do not. Then again maybe it’s the reverse.
You shouldn’t. I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know, but this “hey, they all lie, whatevs” line is a new tactic to so downplay Trump’s allergy to the truth. When the Democrats were in power and Obama lied (and he did), it was a national outrage, a firebell for the end of the Republic, proof of evil, the pursuit of power over principle - you name it, the hysterics were there (“Obamacare was sold on a lie! Impeach, impeach, impeach!”).
Now, Republicans (like Zeb) having insisted on such bulletproof integrity in telling the truth as the bare minimum for holding the office, they’re in a pickle to explain how they could vote for a man who fell well short of the standard they insisted for Obama and this failure was well known early in the election. So rather than say, “hey, it’s true, I have double standards because I’m a partisan hack who only cares about political results, I don’t actually care about integrity”, the new approach is “hey, they all lie, we just do the best we can with we got, gnome-sayin’?”
It’s as transparent as it is unconvincing.
You have gotten many things wrong in the past, I won’t list them again. But, you are so far off the mark this time that it is laughable.
I know you won’t want to recall this, but I was saying the same thing about politicians at this level during the republican primaries. That is when no one thought Trump was going to get the nomination. So, why was I saying it then? Was I saying just in case Trump got the nomination? Ha…you are so poor at this you should really just stop doing it.
Furthermore, Why did I use George HW Bush as one of my examples of a politician who lied if I am so partisan?
You have a narrative running around in that head of yours and by golly you won’t let any fact get in the way of that narrative. Just like the other day when you and the other two stooges accused me of calling conservatives on this site “left leaning liberals” because they didn’t endorse Trump. No doubt you and the others searched mightily for that quote and came up with nothing. You had to eat crow on that one and this is one more you’ll have to eat.
Keep swinging though TB you might hit one by chance.
Of course you were, that’s precisely my point - with an election coming up in 2016, now it’s time to try to get a Republican elected, and you have to change all your previous standards on what counts as bad and disqualifying and start remarking, hey, they all lie, so lying isn’t a huge deal, they all do it amirite, and none of these guys are disqualified or otherwise not worthy for office over a Democrat based on their ghastly track record on honesty (or lack of it).
Yes. Thank you for reiterating my point.
Good try TB but another swing and a miss. The above is what you stated. In essence you think that I am saying that all politicians lie in order to defend Trump.
If I was saying it during the primaries then I was obviously not trying to defend Trump. You are now doing what you do best. Moving the goal post in order to “be right”. Well, you are wrong …again.
Live with it…bask in it…suck it up.
Oh, to clarify, no I didn’t think you were saying during the primaries specifically to defend Trump - you were saying it to defend Republican candidates, any and all Republican candidates, because that’s what you do. Trump elected to have an R beside his name and was the eventual nominee and winner, so you’ll find a way to defend him, but your defense and in tactics was designed to defend any and all the Republicans, not specifically Trump.
And as I stated in the post above you are now back peddling (moving the goal post) on your original FALSE assertion.
You originally said this:
Now you are claiming something else entirely different. And you are doing it because you cannot defend this:
And this is what you do when you engage others as well. As soon as you are proven wrong you want to change the subject.
That’s strike three and you’re out. But of course you will not give up the bat because in your own mind you are never wrong.
(I think at this point one of your cohorts should show up attempting to bail you out. At least that’s what usually happens. Now that I’ve mentioned it who knows?)
Well, no, I didn’t move any goal posts - you are certainly also doing this now because Trump was the winner and is a Republican.
To clear things up for you:
- You were willing to do it then - during the election - for any and all Republicans.
- You’re willing to do it now because Trump is a Republican.
Once there was a need to get a Republican elected, suddenly lying wasn’t such a grievous and disqualifying sin as it was when a Democrat was in office. And now that a Republican did get elected - and continues to lie habitually - the defense continues because, hey, gotta play blind partisan defense no matter what.
Hell, Lucifer could run on a policy of nationalizing the banks, and as long as he did it in the Republican ticket, you’d be here on PWI saying he was Reaganesque and all the identification of the Devil in the Good Book as a bad guy was Fake News because you read it in Judge Jeanine’s newsletter.
Hey, not all of us keep a spare account handy so we can login as an alter ego to give ourselves a boost
Yes you did.
Again, your original FALSE assertion:
Your new line of defense does not defend that assertion but abandons it for what you think is a better argument.
I am asking you to defend your FALSE assertion. And… you can’t.
Like I predicted you wouldn’t just drop the bat and say “you got me this time around I was wrong.” And why don’t you do that? Because for some odd…very odd reason you think you are never wrong.
