Well I would like a chance to pay less, (let’s say zero) taxes for a few years.
I would like legal absolution, because I need to provide a living for my family in a much better style than by ancestors - who farmed for 5 generations. And no one caught me for years.
Spot on. I welcome Mexicans and any other nationality that chooses to enter the country legally. It’s not about racism as the whacky left wants the world to believe. It’s about law and order and keeping our country safe.
To the left on this board. How many other countries operate without borders?
If illegal immigration is a misdemeanor, when does creating a false identity, using many $1000s of public services, voting illegally, and the like turn into felony?
The problem is, not only is that beyond expensive, but you’re quite literally paying criminals to leave the country. I don’t see a world where that gets past 90+% of the country. Even if it’s cost effective, you’re still literally paying criminals to leave the country. The snowball created from something like that would be mind boggling.
Discouraging companies from hiring illegals sounds great, tightening up the immigration sounds great. Evicting illegals sounds great. Stopping the anchor baby policy sounds great. But I don’t see a world in which the path to removing illegals is done by giving criminals tax payer money and trusting that they won’t return.
You don’t genuinely believe this do you? Even with Australia being an island, which is a huge benefit to stop illegal immigration, 0 illegals got into the country in 7 months? That number comes from where? Checking the ID and papers of every single person in the entire country and verifying validity for 7 months?
Prior to getting a US driver’s license I use to use my green card to get into bars.
A handful of bars refused to let me use my green card because they told me it is too often faked. Makes you wonder how bad the illegal problem truly is.
No build the wall first. Beef up ICE first. End sanctuary cities first. Then pay the stragglers who haven’t left yet. Or just offer them citizenship. But we have enough native-born illiterate people out of work. No use keeping more around. Pay them to leave.
The mere fact of being in the US undocumented is not even a misdemeanor. It is the crossing of the border that is a crime–not being here (except under certain circumstances).
Not nearly as many as non-immigrant felons, I’m sure.
This is 100% semantics. If an illegal immigrant is on US soil, by default they have committed a crime. Defining exactly at what stage the crime was committed doesn’t matter in the slightest.
